That last part got ya, didn't it? Lucky me, we leave for Hawaii in 9 days. This will be first trip to Hawaii and first trip with dslr so I have some questions.
Has anyone tried the apple memory card reader? My only possible means to upload while away would be through the ipad.
How much memory should I take? I am going to be snap happy :)
I use one all the time - or I did while I was still shooting on digital. Works just fine. As for how much memory you need? Depends on a lot of factors - whether you shoot in RAW or JPEG, how much storage space is on your iPad, etc.
total of 64 on ipad. do shoot RAW, but so green at this that i still havent figured out LR! and so used to ipad correcting me I can no longer type! time for bed, apprecaite the response. @beautifulthing
Memory cards are so cheap... take a lot and keep your originals on them until you get home. Backup to the iPad. Here's a workflow article... http://snipurl.com/23mu92l
I use the reader with my iPad and it works quite well. It's nice to be able to do a preliminary sort and delete the obvious bad shots. Even if you have several memory cards I like to have the iPad as a backup. Space shouldn't be an issue, even on a 16gb iPad - I know someone who has several hundred raw files on an iPad with no issues.
