Stats

I'm an Ace. Hurray. Looked at the stats but found some peculiarities. Why can I have 6 views on a new photo, just posted, without any views today or in the last 30 days?

Also found out there must be a secret way for rating photo's since my 'top rated photo' doesn't have the most views, favs and comment. Funny.

Maybe not very important but it seems proof not to trust computer sience without any doubt.

I think the rating is related to the ratio of comments and/or favs to the number of views. An image with 100 views and 30 favs might rank higher than one with 200 views and 40 favs. While that might seem silly within your own project, I think the point is when someone has a lot of followers compared to you, they'll always have more views and comments, but if you get a higher ratio of comments/favs per view, then you may make the popular page. So it's trying to measure quality over quantity. And there are monkeys involved, so all that goes out the window.

Don't ask mate.. My number 1 pic has fewer views, comments and favs than my number 3 pic ?!?!?!?!?!

@mikew The last sentence, I understand ;-)
@andycoleborn That's what I mean, haha.
I think Ross looks at every picture and rates it with point from zero to one million.

I've noticed a delay in what is happening at the moment versus what registers in my "today" stats. I was thinking the "today" stats must be based on a snapshot of your views/comments/favs at a particular time (maybe 11:59 p.m. London time?), and so they're never caught up to real life -- more like a "yesterday" stat for me here in the U.S.

@andycoleborn I think it may be due to the time period they got the views etc. in. For example, if one photo was really popular and got 100 views and 20 faves in 24 hours, but another took 3 weeks to get the same, it would be lower rated.

@rockinrobyn Mmm, you may be onto something! Although I'm not satisfied yet. I have 1 today's-comment stated in the totals overview but the pictures with today's comments still don't :-) Just something wrong with the calculation except for the totals...
@wormentude Good thinking!

I've noticed some quircky things with mine, too. I think some of it might have to do with the different time zones. Not sure though.
