So I haven't been taking pictures for a few days.. 4 days ago I took Jasper, my 20 month old Border Collie to the vet. Found out he has a air pocket and a lung disease throughout his lungs. His on 3 strong anti-bionics and seems to be working very well. I already have seen approvements and still have my figures crossed. His eating, a more active. being himself. a week ago he was coughing, throwing up, with blood in it. wasn't barley moving, and wasn't eating. he has lost 6 pounds within 3 and a half weeks. But he is getting better. And thank god, I thought there was a chance that I was going to loose him. His still not out of the woods yet but Jasper has gotten so much better within the 4 days he has been on them. All I has is please pray for Jasper to have a safe recovery. His my best friend, he helped me so much since I had him. Now its my turn to show him how much he means to me. I been by his side and will be till he is 100%. My vet said he doesn't see him not having surgery to remove the diseased parts of the lung. We think what started it was from a injury of a kick in the ribs(No, it wasn't from anyone in his family or friends). But we are not sure. the side that he was kicked is where the air pocket is. But my vet thinks something else caused this. So we are going to treat him and make him rest for 2 weeks and give him his meds and then do another x-ray and see what to do from there. Just please keep Jasper on your mind and please pray for a safe recovery and be his old self. He is one of a kind. Always right beside me, waiting to play or be talked to. He understands me and I understand him. I know he can fight this off. We are hoping to have a fundraiser to raise money for his surgery. Thank you for caring to read this. It means the world to me.
I hate it when my dogs are ill.This happened to my older German Shepard, and she didn't need the surgery in the end. But we kept her resting and on her meds and listened to what the vet had to say and she was fine. I'll be thinking of Jasper and wish him a speedy recovery! Stay positive and strong, both of you!
Am so sorry to hear about Jasper's trip to the Vet. Hope the anti-biotics, the great medical care, rest and his young age - all work in his favor and he has a full recovery without surgery.
I'm really sorry to hear about your boy Jasper & he's in my thoughts, I have two dogs of my own so know how much they weave their way into your heart as Disha has said stay positive & I wish him a speedy recovery!
Its been six days and his only coughing a few times a day! And his returning to be his crazy, silly boy self. Oh and this is very disturbing.. so the lady who kicked Jasper, seen a update post explaining how us and the vets think that the kick caused his illness. well she called and left a terrible message saying how my dog deserved it because he was "aggressively shaking her dog". This didnt even happen. HER dogs attacked Jasper 4 times, he didnt fight back, and was holding on to jasper. So should I have kicked her dogs to defend Jasper? ( I WOULD NEVER harm a dog) Wtf is wrong with people. and the 5th time the dog growled at Jasper and he was stressed and redirected. He didnt latch on, untill the "kicker" started to scream and shake my dog. and then kicked him. He was only 16 months, and when he actually tried to defend himself for the first time he got kicked. please tell me thats wrong. People are so fucking hard headed and sick, they make me shake with anger. I never called her back. She didnt even care about Jasper, we almost had to put him down and yet shes pissed off because we wrote what we wrote on facebook how me and the vets think what caused this serious issue. We didnt write her name on facebook, we did not announced who did it. This tells me that she knows she did something wrong and has to be an ass about it.
