Singh-Ray Daryl Benson Reverse ND Filter - Any good?

June 12th, 2012
Hi all,

I've been checking these filters out online for sunsets & sunrises. They slot into the Cokin holder.

Has anybody got one or used one and if so how did you find them?

Cheers..Dean.

Hi Vorka, Ive not got one but Ive heard good things from others. Ive not got to reverse NDs as yet, just started playing with some cheap Cokin NDs and ND grads (see my sunset shots over last couple of days). Great fun

I saw your shots Paul, they're looking really good. I've just bought a Cokin portrait kit, with the intention of getting into NDs and ND grads.

@vorka Ive also found a recipe that works for me as a combination of using filters to capture the exposure range of a hot (checking the histogram) and then processing in NIK softwares Color efex 4. You can layer up effects and build "recipes" of your own, very pwerful. Always happy to share my findings if ever youre interested in the PP stuff ;-) and would love to hear how you process

@wardie Sounds good to me. I use Lightroom 4 and have just been trialling the Nik Software complete collection which I will buy. LR is awesome, and Nik is brilliant, I find they work well together. I edit first in LR, and swing over into Nik to finish. I have UV and polarising filters (hoya) and now the Cokin. Loving it, need to get over near the coast and try the water shots that you have been nailing, when I get some ND & ND grads. To many toys required!! Everywhere I look theres something else I justify to myself that I need.
