Can someone tell me why when I comment on any picture, that I am the only one that I see that has a delete/reply words by my name? Everyone else only has reply? Been meaning to ask, just keep forgetting.
i assume it's because when it's on your photo, you have control over the comments posted there, and no one else? so if there is an offensive comment you can delete it?
Also, if you are talking about your comment on other people's photos, it would be because if you re-read your comment and realized you made a mistake or wanted to re-comment you could delete your own comment and post it again. This really helps when you type really fast and forget words resulting in potentially awkward moments :-)
What would be really nice @Scrivna is also providing the Edit option like we have in these discussion posts so that we can edit our comments on people's pictures rather than deleting and reposting creating more notifications.
Agree with @trbo that an Edit function as well as Delete/Reply would be good. I had six comments from the one person the other day who kept hitting the wrong keys and reposting his comment with edited wording!
@granny7 As @northy says, it gives you control over your own comments and those of others on your own site. I've found it useful sometimes when wanting to send a personal message to someone, such as letting them know my email address. Once I know they've received it, I can delete the message.
what i sometimes find awkward, is when i meant to press "reply" to someone's comment - but press "delete", or when i accidentally pres touchpad and the comment is deleted... This happens not once, and i would really love to have a pop-up like "Delete this comment?" @Scrivna
or am i the only one this awkward here?)))))))))))))
@Anna I had the same problem where I deleted comments instead of replying. It would be great to add a pop up to confirm the delete action. Is there anyway to undelete a mistakenly deleted comment?
