Quite a few months ago I posted a request tham maybe some of you wonderful 365 people would send a card of encouragement to my friend Vinnie. And some of you did, I just got this e-mail from him. Here it is
Tuck
I'm just getting around to getting my mind unscrambled - and I recently remembered that I haven't gotten around to thanking the people from your 365 Project that sent cards to me while I was in the hospital. Can you post this thank you for me?
To the people who learned about me and my cancer and my bone marrow transplant (actually it was stem cell replacement) through Richard and the 365 Project --
I would like to say thank you for your thoughtful notes posted on the site and the beautiful cards that were sent to me while I was in Rochester in the hospital. They came in over the course of my stay and meant an awful lot to me as I was hundreds of miles away from home; the cards and notes were inspirational and heartfelt. Some even contained beautiful photos + pictures. While I've never met any of you, it's good to know that there are thoughtful caring people like yourselves out there who came to me at a time when I most needed your thoughts + prayers. Thank you all again.
Sincerely,
Vince + Family===
I want to thank you as well. I hope that all that sent cards get to see this. Richard
@rrt I recently ended my project but still check in occasionally and was delighted to see this. It is nice to know he is doing better! Please let him know he is still in my prayers and thanks for passing his note along!
@rrt What a very heartfelt letter. It makes me feel so good to know there is a community like 365 that really cares about people. This is what the world is really all about. One request form a man for the prayers and thoughts to another man and what a difference it made. Thanks, Richard, for the opportunity you gave all of us to show what one act of kindness can do. Please keep us updated on Vinnie's recovery because we care.
So glad that that Vince is doing better! What a beautiful letter he sent! I sent him a card with prayers, as well-wishes - hope they helped. We are such a loving, embracing community!
