I know many of you are on Flickr. Recently I've had a constant message come up on that website telling me that I'm approaching 200 photos and that I'll need to go 'Pro' if I want to be able to see them all, if I exceed the limit. I didn't know this when I initially joined.
All I want to know is, is it worth 'going 'Pro', or is it only useful for actual professionals? What other benefits - if at all - do you get except the additional space to post more photos?
PS I use the same moniker (Vikdaddy) on Flickr as well, so add me if you like as I'd love to see the photos many of you don't post here!
Thanks Craig... but do I get any other benefits? There's other sites I can post photos on for free, so I'm just wondering whether it's worth the expense to pay on Flickr. I haven't yet paid to use any website, and I'm determined to keep it that way!
I've had a pro account for a few years, and just the ability to have unlimited upload and not need to spread my photos across multiple sites was/is enough for me to pay the yearly fee. here is what you get when you go pro on flikr:
Unlimited uploads and storage
Unlimited sets and collections
Access to your original files
Stats on your account
Ad-free browsing and sharing
HD playback for high-definition video uploads
hope that helps.
I really want a pro account but I don't want to pay for it LOL. I guess years ago unlimited was free and then they took it away and told everyone if they wanted their unlimited they had to pay.
There are SO many free photo hosting sites that I don't think I'd pay to store my photos. I am however thinking about paying for this site when I'm done with my one year because I just love it!
i went pro and im not a pro ... i dont know the difference between pro or not only the amount of downloads !! but im happy with it .. Im in a group that we go out regularly as a group shooting different things , Mainly sunrises !!
I have a flickr..just made one pretty recently...I'm not sure if I'll go pro quite yet.... I'll wait a little longer...then more than likely I'll go through the effort to pay haha

To me it's not worth paying for the flickr.
