I would like for some of you to comment on my pictures. I know they are not the best But I would like some pointers on how I could take pictures better.. I am going to get a new digital camera at christmas.. so that will help..
Thank you
sandra
My first suggestion would be to turn off the date stamp on the camera. It distracts from your images. Secondly, I would keep an eye on the horizon, and try to level it out in the pictures. Otherwise, keep shooting what catches your eye. Look at other people's work, and find images you like. See what makes them good to you, and try to work with that in your own images. :-)
I will try to follow you. However, my track record is not very good at the present, due to my health issues. My advice to get more comments is to follow more people and participate in discussions (and challenges). I need to follow the last piece of advice: follow people who comment on your photos. Welcome to 365. Enjoy the community and enjoy taking photos.
#1) As others have stated, kill the date stamp on your photos. It is distracting and you don't want the viewers eyes to wander from your sunject.
#2) Decide what you want your subject to be. A lot of your shots are just of just random things.
#3) The first photo you posted of the family portrait has a few things wrong with it. First, obviously they were posing for someone else with a camera. All their eyes were looking at that person, not you. Secondly, you were shooting them from an angle. Thirdly, the wall they were posing in front of had all those framed photographs on it which was also a distraction. Correcting and being conscious of those errors in our future shots will help improve your photography.
The other thing you may find useful is to click the reply button next to a comment from another 365 user so that it adds @personsname to the reply. They'll then know you replied and may continue chatting with you :) helps build relationships :) Good luck with your project, hope you enjoy it :)
I agree with @cromwell on all points. I'd also like to add that you can see part of the next room. This is distracting and I would crop that out of the photo.
Day 13- This photo is confusing to me because I'm not really sure on the subject. There are a lot of distracting items: the hydro lines, date stamp, the sign, the trees, the sun... Make sure when you take a photo that the audience isn't second guessing what it's about.
I noticed that you haven't posted photos on a regular basis. Try to post something every day whether you feel like it or not. This will help you improve your skills.
Look at other photos and mark the ones you like. Ask questions about how a certain photo is done and then try to do it yourself. This is the only way you will learn.
Follow other people and they will follow you. You photos will be seen by more people. Make comments on photos that you like.
While I agree that getting a new fancy camera is great, you still have to know how to use the features on the camera. Try taking a class or two to learn the basics.
@pschtyckque thank you . your not the first person to tell me to loose the date stamp.. and I will keep looking at other peoples photos and get more ideas.. and I am going to get a tripod I think that would help on some pictures
