Nikon.

I have/had a Nikon D90, that was until last night when my OH decided to try it out on night sky photography, it produced far superior images to his D70s.
So he wants my camera now, which could have its upside, I'll get a new camera body.
So any Nikon users out there, what would you recommend for my upgrade?
Thanks in advance, Lorraine : )

Heres the shot that changed everything!!

I have a D3100 I just purchased in January. I wish I could afford lenses. All I have is the 18-55 :-(

I've got a D7000 and I adore it. If you like your D90, you will love a D7000!

I've just upgraded from an 8 year old D40 which I loved, to a D5100, which I'm still learning about, but love even more

@terryvet92 What is it that you love? I just looked at the info on it and it sounds like a possibility.

oh I am glad you posted this ~ I am looking to upgrade from the D5100 that I have had for a year now, I have no spare body but am looking to get a 2nd, so an upgrade is in order... any advice?

D300s if you have enough spare cash :-)

There are growing rumours of a D600 coming - an upgrade to the D300s and the a step down from the D800 - same pixel count though!!! It will be full frame by all accounts and its release will be sooner rather than later as images have been leaked!!!

We have a D70 and a D7000... I love our D7000 :-) Did you want a crop or full frame?
August 17th, 2012
Hi Lorraine. D7000, you will love it.

@38mm I would love a Leica m9 jase, but can't afford it. I use a fuji x100 as a carry round and love the style. Leica is a dream. Even if I got an older Leica the lenses are out of reach.

@andysg Hi Andy. You think the new d600 will be a decent camera and better than an older d700?
August 17th, 2012
@wardie hi Paul the images I have seen from the d800 for macro are so detailed and for lndscape too...might wait for.launch and first updates before deciding to change

I have a d90 now but just put a deposit down on the d800. Can't wait for it to arrive!!
August 17th, 2012
@andysg Yes, I spotted some news on that one, I'll keep an eye open but I think it'll be the D7000, if I can scrape enough pennies together! : )
August 17th, 2012
Hi Lorraine I have the 7000 and love it!!!
August 17th, 2012
@andysg Thats just what i want! To love a new camera just as much as my D90! Thanks : )

I would eventually like a full frame camera but can't really justify it! The D7000 fits my hands and I have relatively small hands. I went from a D90 to this one. One of the things I love is how well it handles low light. I rarely have problems with noise in my shots, even when I push the ISO up fairly high. I don't like to put the ISO up too high but I think it's well capable of handling more than I ask it for. All of the things you love about the D90 are at least as good or better on the D7000.

@terryvet92 Thanks Terry, I'm convinced, especially due to the low light as I hate using flash.
