Canon g9

My canon g9 is not powering up. I read that a site names cameraandparts.com repairs for half the cost of canon. Some reviews are great; others say I'll never see my camera again. Anyone ever use them.

I don't think the camera is worth the cost of Canon repairing it. It is my carry in my purse camera not my main one.

Some years ago I had my Canon G5 repaired by Colchester Camera Repair. It was expensive due to labour needed and parts and postage. I would not go with a non Canon approved shop. I would look at price of a used G11 before going for a repair.

I sent my G10 into Canon for a serious problem (the view through the viewfinder did not at all match what the camera took). The guy in a local camera store said that problem indicated the camera was pretty much shot. I sent it to Canon anyway. They fixed the problem for $130.00 or something, but shortly after the camera had other problems. It currently does not want to focus about half the time. In my case the cost of the repair was really not worth it. Anyway, I agree with Paul that you might want to find another camera.
