Lens Distortion Correction Question

September 12th, 2012
I have a Canon Rebel XS with a stock lens on it. I also use Paint Shop Pro X4 and Canon DPP to edit my photos. I have been starting to read about lens distortion and would like to know if a lens will have the same distortion every time and were there is a good web site for correcting this distortion using the software that I have.

I like PT lens... http://epaperpress.com/ptlens/
I am not sure which lens you have, but there is a list of supported lenses on the website. I am not sure if it can plug into Paintshop Pro, but can in Photoshop, and can be used standalone.

@cirasj I have paint shop 4 and have rarely needed to adjust for lens distortion. I get it more at the wide angles or in shooting buildings, but overall have not seen a need to do it.

@brumbe @harveyzone Thank you for your responses. Paula - good to see others using PSP.

@cirasj Lightroom has a lens distortion button (check box) works well for wide angle lens if you are using the horizon as a focal point.
