Monitor Calibrators

September 14th, 2012
Hi,

Does anyone use these and if so have you found it be beneficial? Specifically its the X Rite 1 Display Pro that I've been googling. Currently my screens aren't calibrated and I notice a large difference from screen to screen and again from screen to print. I figured proper calibrating would help the screen to print difference/issue.

Thanks in advance..Dean.

oh sorry... yes everything you said is right...

yes - everyone should use them.. and not buy crap screens

yes they help alot... provided you don't have a crap screen that shifts colours as it warms up...

yes you have been googling the Rite 1 display

yes currently your screens are not calibrated

yes you do notice a large difference as there will be a large difference... I can download the colours from the printer I use to match my screen to their printers...

yes it would help...

yes you can thank us in advance

other things to consider... the colour of shirt you are wearing changes the colour on most screens... the time of day... the colour of the walls... the temp of the lighting in the room... if someone is sitting beside you and if you have not cleaned your screen in a month and or it is covered in green jelly...

Strongly recommend it - I work for X-Rite ;) But not just because of that, it's really a great product, one of the best on the market!

@vorka Hi Vorka I don't use the one you mentioned but have the Spyder4 Pro and its definitely worth the money, noticed the difference when I take my photos to the print shop, now they don't adjust levels at all for my prints.
As others mentioned the ambient light in your room will make a huge difference so try and calibrate at around the same time and conditions fortnightly.

@icywarm @flagged Thank you, appreciate your advice.
@notsorandompics Thanks, I spoke to one retailer who said the same thing, and he sold other brands as well. X-Rite is the way to go by the sounds of it.
