When covering large areas, apply thinly, let dry and apply more. That will help with that cakey look. This is a cute pic! Use a sponge to apply. And get closer to eye? There's actually a website called facepaintingtips.com LOL
Oh, and I'd google images if I wanted ideas. "face paint on model" "face paint art" brings up some nice things. "amazing face paint" has some pretty bizarre things..:-)
Though not traditional face paint, I've been haunted (in a good way) by a portrait I saw in this month's Popular Photography magazine. If you go to www.popphoto.com, it is on their homepage. Basically, it is a woman in a mud mask. I love it!
@cmc1200 Oh that is COOL! My daughter took my french clay when she got married (with my blessing - I'm very glad too since it helped heal my little grandbaby's spider bite!) I was just thinking I should get some more, and when I do, that is on my list!
@michellegaynor I love it! Is it actually paint? OR did you make some sort of corn starch goop or something? I can't do something like that, I don't have such an awesome chin. In fact, I hardly have a chin at all!LOL
It is body paint, stood my gorgeous daughter on a tarpaulin in a strapless white bra and pants, next to my shower room and poured it over her. Virtually NO editing done here this is natural evening sunlight. Very messy but BEAUTIFUL shots.
@houdiniem
urm I use it all the time, here's a few, feel free to ask any questions :)
try a b&w portrait and use selective colour for the face paint like this...
