Do you have problems with the Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS?

October 3rd, 2012
GUYS!!!!!!
My Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS i think has finally died on me, like it wont turn on even when the battery is fully charged. :/
OK SOOO, has any one else ever had this problem with there point and shoot? it has had a lens error for 3 years {{{{3}}}}
I know what your thinking. just throw it away, well i have no money :)

alright details :
So 2010 i dropped my camera and the lens was jammed meaning it would not close and go all the way in. The only way to take a picture was to bang really hard on the camera and then the lens would extend. so i could take a picture. or i stuck my finger nail under the lens and pull it out. I have been using the camera like that for three years. Well yesterday i dropped my camera when i was working with a tripod and it fell on the ground with the lens out. i pressed the reset button charged the battery then it worked again.
Well today i woke up and wanted to take a picture only to find out that my camera was not working once again, Charged the camera pressed the reset button and its not working. NOT WORKING.

Sooo if you have any advise or think its just completley done with please tell me! i really want to get back to my normal photo shoot every day.
Thank you all for reading sorry i wrote so much! i need all the advise as i can get!!

I'm sorry to hear about your camera. I have a Canon Powershot A560- which is probably a less expensive version of yours. It was a gift and although I'd like something better, it has served me quite well. I hate to say this, but I think your camera was damaged when it fell and it sounds like you squeaked by the first time, but the second time was more than the camera could take. I wish I could give you some tips, but I can't. However, this is the right place to ask these questions and maybe some else will have a suggestion that works. In the meantime, if you do have to replace and you don't have a lot of cash to work with, there are quite a few inexpensive p & s cameras out there that might suit your needs. I hope it gets straightened out for you soon!

@leahlikesphotography I have seen folks on here speak of Amazon and ebay at times. If you go to the top of your home page and click on browse, the pull down menu will have an option for cameras. I believe there are reviews on there that might help you in your quest for an slr.

I think any repair through Canon costs $129.00. It might be worth it or it might not. You might call Canon and see if you can upgrade to something bettter by sending in your broken one. I think they do something like that.
