I am attaching original and cropped photo, shot using 7D, 70-200mm, ISO 400, AWB.
I find that my camera has more pixelation ie photos look kind of grainy. Do you see it in the attached two images ? Any thoughts if it is the camera or some setting on 7D or my eyes :-).

Hi there and I see the F stop is at 2.8 so you are leaving very little room for error unless the humming bird is the focus point or on the focal plane. The container looks very sharp but unlkess the bird was exactly level wit it then it will not be in focus and could lead to the blur/grain in the image. I am no expert but just a thought.h
@andysg Thanks Andy. You have very good eye. I set the focus on container and switched off auto focus because did not want my auto focus to search for focus while camera is moving.
I find similar grainyness on all photos @ ISO of 400 and more - so not sure if it is the out of focus that is causing the grainy ness.

I usually don't see grain/noise with an ISO of 400. I do get it sometimes with 800 and pretty much always with 1600. I have a Canon though, so I can't really offer much help/advise here.
I was put off buying a 7D because there are a number of reviews suggesting a problem with digital noise and I did meet someone who had one and confirmed this.
@jsw0109 Thank you for your comment. @bobfoto Even in the un-cropped photo, I find that the background which should be smooth has some grainy-ness to it. If you click on the uncropped photo above, it will take you the posted page and the zoomed image shows this. Thanks for your comment. @hopelessromantic In this case, I am not sure if I am setting very high expectations or this is what some of the reviews talk about . Thanks for your comment.
