I have recently been around some beautifull woodland lately it has been slightly windy and leaves have been falling in abundence. I have tried to capture them falling but found when I have taken the snap its beautifull but! you can not see the leaves can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong....
I have found that they are much too small - you need to really get close. Because our eyes see movement, we notice leaves much more in real life than you can pick them out of a static picture.
Get close, find a different angle ... Here are two I did with a self-timer and throwing leaves, to give you an idea.
Thank you but I was after the Natural fall look .. it was so beautiful but I think Sharon is right they are just too hard to focus on thanks for the help...
Had a buddy of mine capture one single leaf falling much like the one Simon posted above, but it took him 100s of shots before he actually got one in focus. He told me he manually focused for a certain distance away and left the focus there. Then used the panning technique on the leaves that distance away from him to get the blur in the background. He was excited to get one shot but he also said he was not keen to try and get another soon. :)
Never tried it myself though.
