I never really bother adding tags to my photos unless I have one relevant to the weekly theme, but I have been wondering about them. Should I be tagging my pics? why/why not? What do you think?
if you want more followers you should tag them. I search for exemple pictures from countries I love or cats...
and like everything on the site... it's all up to you :-)
I have been wondering the same thing lately. On the last few pictures I have been trying to remember to tag them just to see if it makes a difference. I don't know yet if it does or not but I am going to try for a bit to see.
It just helps people find subjects they like to look at I think. When I first started this Project, I started following people by looking up "castles," "Scotland," different animals, countries, etc. The type of photos I like to look at! I know there are some that tag their photos with their names too.
If you tag your photos, does it mean they would show up in a google search (and be more likely to be 'stolen')? what would tagging photos with your name mean? because for people to search your name, they must already follow you or know where to find you on 365?
I would think that tagging works only within 365 and that it wouldn't make them more likely to show up in a search engine, although I am not 100% sure.
if im looking for a idea to take a photo i always search the tags for ideas .. so yep i think tags are important if u want ur photos to be seen !!! tagged photos here only remain here on 365 !!!!
I tag mine because I search for photos a lot. I search for butterflies, flowers, bugs, purple, people from Michigan, etc. Of course only the people who have tagged their photos with keywords I use and like will come up. I find more people I have things in common with to follow.
I tag my pictures so in case anyone searches a tag I might add, I get a chance of being spotted and sharing my work. It's sort of a selfish promotion sort of thing for me.
It's really up to you though.

I had thought of watermarking Haley, might give it a go? I was mostly worried about pictures of my children really so glad that tagging doesn't go to the google pictures (not that I am too worried really, I put them on here don't I!).
I might start doing it and searching through some tags myself :)
I always tag my photos, just as I tag my posts in blogs, but I am still wondering if search engines outside the 365project will pick up these images? I post photos to a Flickr account (via Posterous) and I know that Google image search can find those. I don't mind if people use these photos (they are the reduced size version to upload in any case), but I am interested to know about the copyright and creative commons issues with the images uploaded to this site.
