This may seem strange, but I a participate in another photo site (Pixoto) that seems to be very popular in Asia. I see many spectacular shots of East Asians, and sub-continent Asians with unexpected eye color. I can understand female adult models using contact lenses to turn their eyes blue or green, or the photographer changing eye color in post, but I see striking shades of blue, gray, and green in some pics of young children. How common is it for Asians to manipulate their eye color either with contacts or with photoshop? But then I might be just a very innocently ignorant North American with limited experience with different Asian ethnicities who don't have dark brown eyes.
