Check out these fabulous budgie shots

One of my 365 friends, Megan @lbmcshutter, sent me this link. Wonderful shots of a murmuration of budgerigars in Central Australia. http://www.stevenpearcephoto.com/blog/2012/11/21/budgie-murmurations-large-flocks-in-central-australia.html
Budgies are kept as caged pets all over the world but are native to Australia. In their natural form, they only come in the colours green-and-yellow, as in these shots.

wow !!! What an incredible sight !! I have seen small flocks of budgies whilst traveling through the outback but never anything like this. Simply amazing. Very reassuring to see that these birds are still thriving in Australia :). Thanks for posting the link, Robin.

@sabine Yes, like you, I've seen them outback or in drier parts of the continent but never like this. Would love to get out there and see it for myself.

Very cool!! They're also usually larger than the caged ones.

What an amazing and wonderful sight! Thank you for the share, Robin.
I can't grasp the idea of seeing so many brightly coloured birds together - we have murmurations of starlings here but although their plumage is irridescent, its colours are muted by comparison. I do envy you your budgies, galahs and lorikeets.

Brilliant photos Robin. I've only seen budgies in cages that are obviously far too small! Thanks for posting.
