UK Calendar Of Events

So I was thinking, last year was such a huge year for events and photographic opportunities, that this year, well, it seems a little bit empty. So, out with the calendar to start compiling weekend activities for capturing! Does anyone else have a calendar they need filling of free or cheap events?

And whilst I'm quite happy photographing spoons and forks in the kitchen, I thought it might be helpful to come up with some events that happen throughout the year in various places when we start to find out about them. And also if anyone is looking for any events in particular maybe other people might know about them.

So this year, I really really want to photograph a rubber duck race in the North East. Does anyone know of any?

I was also wanting to photograph a Tall Ships event?

I'm also wanting to go to the 49th Billingham International Folklore Festival, 9th August - 17th August 2013 (here's a few images on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=billingham%20international%20folklore%20festival )

I'll also be putting Stokesley Show in my diary. I actually had a stall there last year, and shall do this year too, but will be making the effort to go an take some snaps ( http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&q=stokesley+show&m=text )

Just an idea, but could be good to find out about some events we might not have know about otherwise!

What a brilliant idea Amy, I would be very interested to see a list like that and I would love to incorporate some of these into the monthly word challenge.
Please let me know if you get such a list.

@amyamoeba I know what you mean Amy - last year was such a Huge year in the UK, this year looks a little bereft already! I think someone said there is an Ansell Adams exhibition on in London this spring which might brighten up the gloom?!
Our may day celebrations in Ickwell, Bedfordshire are always good for a shot - not many places still have dancing around the maypole and a may queen being crowned on the May bank holiday Monday....
