Continuation of 365 project whilst on holiday

January 7th, 2013
Hi all, I am going on holiday for a week in February and do not want to lose the continuity of my 365 project. I am not sure about how much internet connection I can get. Has anyone any suggestions please? I suppose I could do a bank of images and let a friend post them for me. Is this permissible?
Thank you.

If you take a photo a day your exif info will post it in the appropriate date when you return :) You still will have a photo a day just posting them in bulk :)

Upload when you get back???

I normally go on a 2-3 week expedition every year without internet connectivity - I drip feed uploading on my return (so as not to flood the feeds) - the exif information will sort them into day order for you! Don't worry, your followers won't forget you!!

If I'm on holiday or fall behind, I just upload 2 a day until I'm caught up. Just be warned that some people don't take kindly to have their feeds flooded, so if you upload 10 in one go you may lose followers. Trickle feeding them in seems to work best, plus you get to enjoy your favourite holiday snaps a bit longer :-)

Thank you all very much for your very useful replies.

That's ok, but quick tip, Patricia - if you press the reply button to the right of the persons name, then they will get a notification that you have responded :)

I will be on holiday too for a month in Feb! I think I will come back and upload it later :)

Yep, just upload when you get back. I went on a missions trip to Jamaica last June and was there for a week without internet access. I just continued on with taking pictures (TONS!!) and then just uploaded one from each day once I got back home. Have fun!

enjoy your time away and do not worry about the site for a week. Upload when you get home.

I always do the same - last April I went to Nashville and had loads of shots to choose from when I returned! Also, I don't always have time to upload a picture every day, so I'll sit down and make sure my project is up to date at the end of every week or month.

I am on holiday now! As and when is what I do and like Juliette said I try not to go mad uploading when I do get an internet connection!

Don't worry too much about uploading them all at once wen you get back either, cos sorting through and tweaking can be time-consuming. Sometimes it helps to upload the one for the day you're on and a few others, rather than trying to do everything at once.

Thank you Paula. The holiday is needed. Husband was very ill from May to December last year so I think this will be a tonic for him. Talking about tonic, I might just leave him somewhere with a G&T and I can go off and do what I like best.

@staffsknott well then I hope the two of you have a great time just being together and away from everything else. Now I strongly agree that the site will just have to wait until you are finished enjoying doing nothing and everything.
