Already I (and many other Newbie 365'ers), have almost completed the first month of our 365 Project.
I was just looking back through my first month of my 365 Project...and already I can see how my photography has improved. I just want to say a Big Thanks to Everybody for your comments. Be they Positive, Critical or Advisory, they have all helped me improve and being part of this little community is great. We all help each other along and give each other ideas and inspiration. I'm loving it!
Hear, hear! I completely agree. The inspiration is wonderful on here. At first I was a bit intimidated by all of the wonderful, simply AMAZING photos I saw. Then that intimidation turned into determination (love this week's theme)! I am determined to see this through. Like in most things we do, practice makes perfect or at least helps you improve.
I can't believe I've got to the (almost) end of January and am still so motivated.... it's such fun checking in every day with the new shot and, Helen, I agree - the comments (whatever they be) are so exciting to give and get... I'm loving it too!
Cant believe I have managed to take a shot every day. Great fun and really want to complete this project. Love looking at all the other photos and thinking "maybe that will be me one day"!!! Oh well practice makes perfect ;-)
I agree. I think the first time someone "favs' you, the pressure is on to make the next shot equally as good. I've really been amazed at my progress in a month! And, this group is so supportive!
When I began this project almost a month ago I didn't think I would be so inspired as I am now, and I already see a lot of improvement. Got myself a new camera and hope to learn a lot. I don't think I would have done all of this if it wasn't for this website, it inspires me and I love all the comments and advice from the great people who are a part of this community!
Yes, thanks to everyone for the support, feedback and assistance. I'm now always on the lookout for photos and or observing the quality of the light. Only problem is it absorbs all my free time as well as time I should be doing chores!
I'm really enjoying 365 thus far. I've learned a lot about my camera in the past month, which was my primary reason for joining. I've been reading a "how to" photography book that I found on amazon that is very helpful and understandable. Have to say although a very difficult challenge, it has been a great one...don't remember the last time i have focused on something for this long haha. I am willing to do this for the remaining 11 months and not miss a day, regardless of what life throws at me. Hopefully this will help me focus in life in general, but also to help me become a better photographer. I am very inspired with the amazing professionals on here and i am so glad i have discovered this wonderful site with wonderful supporting people.
I am so excited to have learned everything I have in the last month. Looking back at my earlier photos, I have already improved - and loving documenting every day! In January I have taken 1,936 photos! Wow!!
The community is so supportive. I am always blown away by the supportive and helpful comments left on my photos, it is the only way I will learn!

Before I started this challenge, I was still pretty much using full auto!! But after almost a month, I'm more on manual mode!! I love being a part of this community! I feel like I've made friends from all over the world!!

I learnt alot about camera settings in my first month here. Having to do one picture a day pushed me to learn all the buttons and options on my camera. looking back at my pictures, I am happy because alot more thought went into the recent shots, and I take that as a good sign. 11 months to go!
Still hanging with it after the first month. Would love to get more comments, but hey, if that doesn't happen...well that's ok too I guess as it is my project to do with as I see fit (good or bad).
This has been a great month. I have been enjoying documenting the days. I love that this thread is focusing on the newbies. I am in awe of some of the photography I am singing and of how many people continue past the first 365. One of my goals for February is to try to be more active in the community and hopefully start giving and getting more feedback. I'm going to follow all of you. A lot of the people I have been following have been at this awhile and it'll be nice to have others at the same point. :)
It's been a lot of fun, and a lot of learning... I'm still liking the challenge of coming up with a shot I feel proud of each day, and I feel pretty determined to see it through. It feels great to look back on a month of my shots - how good will a year feel?
My first month involved lots of water... I did just move to the coast and we did have a flood so im not surpried... I got my first fav and i also got on the PP.. Im so excited about both of those.. Im really happy with how my project is going...
