There are a couple pages outside flickr that will tell you which photos from a username (if any, of course) have appeared (and the date they were on) on the explorer page.
Has anyone written anything similar for the popular page here?
I think a couple of mine made it for a short while before, and (maybe I'm selfish) I'd like to be able to go back and see if/when one made it.
as far as i know i have had one photo make it on the popular page, only because it was in the top 20. but i've had another photo that someone commented was on the popular page but i never saw it there.
I'm aware that one of mine made it, and was informed by someone else, but would like to know if mine, or others who I follow, had made it to the page as well. Good idea. More work for Russ :( I wonder if it could show up in the notifications tab? xx
Maybe photos used by the "Magic Monkeys" could be given a wee sticker - perhaps a tiny monkey in the corner.... would be good to know if they spotted any pics.... and there's no other way of knowing as some pics go up and down at the speed of light and others hang around until they've faded! Good idea.... maybe need to get The Steve on that now that he's sorted out the zombies!
I look at the popular page every time I log in, because it is a great way to see photos of people I'm not following. I agree that the notifiation feature might be applied here. (PS....I'm enjoying notifications and hope we'll be getting more for example the popular page or when someone replies to your comment) I would love to know that my photo made it and currently I only know if I catch it or someone mentions it.
one thing that I do if and when I see one of my pics on the pop page ios I take a picture of the page with my point and shoot, then I have a lasting memory of making it to the page,
a few of mine have made the popular page (i have no idea how they got there!) but when they do i take a screen shot so that if im feeling uninspired or lazy i can look at it and it can give me some inspiration to keep going, IYKWIM?

I agree! A few of mine have made the popular page, but after I stopped commenting on everybody and their brother's photos, they've stopped. But I've always wondered, "what if they were on there and I didn't see them?"
This does not solve the immediate question, but if you sign up for the Ace account you get access to stats which tell you the popularity of your pictures relative to each other. What it does not tell you is how they stack up relative to other people's pictures. But it's very interesting info - worth paying for the Ace account.

I suspect all this info is contained int he DB, it just takes the correct queries to pull it out.

I too hadn't been hanging around the pop page until someone left comment that particular image was there and then it was gone ...
Now I go to the pop by day page to judge where my image sits on that day ... not that it's a true indication ...

I've had 3 photos on it, and I only knew because my friend checks it and took screenshots for me. I wish there would be an easy way to know!
