Would you like to photograph?!
Sometimes I see photo's that really make me want to go and take my own.. I've always wanted to photograph the nodding donkeys in Texas (dont ask!) a bit of the Sahara Desert, Northern Lights and the tomato fight in Bunol, Spain... those would be my ultimate, if a lot cliche! I guess I'd better get saving :-) Anyone else have their dream photo idea?
Anywhere in China. India would be pretty fun, too. I would even throw the sheep in the Lake District into the mix with a selfie of me and my English Lit II Norton Anthology. :)
Northern Lights, Maldives, Terracotta Army, Machu Picchu, Sydney, Vietnam, Grand Canyon... Oh, that's also my holiday wish list so suppose I should add... Washing elephant in a river in Sri Lanka... Oh, that's also on the holiday wish list... :-)
I will agree with what everyone else suggest, will be some wicked suggests on here I reckon. I reckon India got to be up there, then you could disappear to Goa afterwards.
Anywhere in the US, but mainly just wandering the streets of New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas or Los Angeles. I guess I've watched a lot of films and TV over the years! Oh and Red Square and Ulan Bator maybe...
Interesting .... I guess I don't know. There are plenty of really fascinating places that would be fun to photograph but nothing really pulls me to "want" to go there to photograph it. Hmmmm .... what does that mean?
This discussion should be interesting!! I would like to photograph:
1) Any animal in the Amazon rainforest--except the butterflies
2) A wild tiger, jaguar, leopard or black leopard--in their respective countries.
3) Any of the castles in Scotland, Wales or England (I love Scotland especially)
4) If I had an underwater camera and access to a shark cage, I would be pretty jazzed to get some photos of Great White sharks feeding.
So, I guess I need to start saving for those plane tickets too--haha. Not to mention an underwater camera!
I would want to go digital at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (and a hike to the bottom), revisit southern Utah, Wyoming, Southwestern Colorado(Silverton Train and San Juans), Montana
@clarissajohal Nice!! Sounds fab :-) I didnt go there sadly, went to Uni in Ediburgh and drove (no backpacking!) around some of the highlands and the coast a lot, very beautiful.
Copenhagen in Denmark, Sweden, England and Berlin in Germany, because i am travelling to these places at the end of this month. Leave 2 weeks tonight.
Also would like to photograph Rome, Venice, Paris, and Prague. Maybe, hopefully they will be the next trip.
i live in a beautiful place, but i am jealous of all the seacoast shots i see here. so the ocean anywhere or as an old song goes.....the coast of colorado after california is gone!
@rich57 Cool--let's all meet there with our cameras and sleeping bags! lol I'll be the one perching on top of a pile of castle rubble trying to get "that perfect shot"...
I am going with a place I know I will be visiting for the first time this December: Sedona, Arizona. When the family vote for a Dec. getaway took place, I went for Sedona because I've never been to Arizona plus Wikipedia says the main attraction is "its stunning array of red sandstone formations, the Red Rocks of Sedona. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The Red Rocks form a breathtaking backdrop for everything from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails". Can't wait!
@clarissajohal haha. yes, that's exactly what the girl at the travel agency said too.
i can't wait to get going, and i've got so much inspiration for how/what to photograph from this site. @rich57 oh, an english pub is on my list to photograph!!
like many of you I have a long long list of places I'd like to see, and the camera would be right there to...red square definately. But really, I'd most like to allow myself (or challenge myself) to get comfortable photographing the faces of the people along the way. saw the most characterful laborer today, spoke to him about his working day but just couldn't bring myself to ask "puedo fotographia?"
most of the places that i have seen but seen too young, too soon.... India, China, Cambodia, Guatemala, & Spain.... some never been to places: Czech Republic... Austria... Argentina... & Russia...
I want to go back to Thailand. I got to visit a few years ago but it was a go go go kind of trip and my photos from that trip simply do not do it justice. I want a do over!
The Amazon - pink river dolphins! (and so much more...)
I did get to photograph the Northern Lights in 2001, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I was extremely fortunate to see the auroras every night, and on the last night we saw a very rare display - a RED AURORA!
Having just moved (nearly 3 years ago) to Perth, Western Australia I am finding so many new and exciting things and places to shoot here but would dearly love to see and photograph the Terracotta Soldiers in China - one day maybe??
When I lived in the North of Scotland (most of my life) I have seen Aurora Borialis or the Northern Lights several times but not since I've had a decent camera so no photos.
For me I think people make the most interesting subjects when they aren't posing anyway. It feels so very intimate to be able to capture an emotion. Doesn't hurt if its in a beautiful setting with amazing food too! LOL! Cheers!
Well, hopefully I'm going to Sri Lanka next summer, so that would be great. Plus I hope to get some good skiing shots around Christmas. :-) Also the Northern Lights and Grand Canyon and also less exotic places like the Lake District and the Peak District (yes, I know it's basically on my doorstep, but I still don't go often enough),
Oh, ahm, south west of US, Ireland, Yorkshire, Norway the Fjords, the Al-Hambra in Spain and in Switzerland the Emmental (the old farmhouses), river Doubs, Rosenlaui Schlucht, Aare Schlucht. Schlucht means canyon or gorge.
We are working on a trip to either Russia or Ukraine in the spring so I can't wait to take pics there. ( If it works out.)
My husband is going to Alaska next summer ona "MAN" trip... I have a feeling it involves lots of fishing, hunting and other manly things.... So I'm not really interested but I wouldn't mind going on my own to take pics. LOL
Hmmm.... Just about anywhere different from Florida would be nice. :)
alaska, for sure. i would like to live there for a bit. australia is definitely on my list. there are places i would love to visit on every continent, but i really want to start with a roadtrip of the US, and photograph all of the strange and interesting things and people. :)
Norway, oh I LOVE Norway...went on honeymoon, dreaming of driving the Arctic highway in a few years time, taking a few months in a camper van with our daughter...
and then as my husband sails very very badly we'd have to drive home via all the great architectural sights of Europe...
so that takes care of a year...now, where's that winning lottery ticket? :-)
I want to go to some really big city like New Yorke. And to some really beautiful and exotic beaches (Hawaii..). My big dream is to see northern and southern (polar) lights (or aurorae) and photograph this.
Northern Lights
Antarctica
Mt. Everest
a volcano erupting with lava
The Pyramids of Egypt
The Eiffel Tower
The Great Wall of China
The Taj Mahal
the Great Barrier Reef (underwater)
Kenya
the Grand Canyon
I agree with everyone, this is my travel/holiday list, too! And I want to travel the world (yes, including Everest and Antarctica)! :)

But as well as that, I should like to return to St Kilda, to take some photos...
But I've always wanted to see Austria. something my grandmother crossed off her bucket list just in the nick of time. I want to do the same someday.
