wahay, a couple of days ago a guy from Caters Agency (Image/story provider to newspapers) contacted me about a picture I posted recently, the 'puppy' cloud, http://365project.org/petervanallen/more-pics/2010-10-14
they were going to trying selling it to the dailies, would I be interested, would I?
have just been notified that my picture has started to appear online on the Telegraph and Mail websites (both UK papers), hope they will print, cause there might be some dosh in it, hope, hope
would appreciate a heads-up if you see it in your neck of the woods, many thanks, woohoo!
It can happen - just believe!
just to let you know, one of the papers thinks that it's a kitten, the other thinks that it looks like a Dulux dog, so the jury's still out, we hope to get a final decision in about a week, lol
That is fantastic!! Your stuff is so fab I'm sure they will grab it up- they are dumb if they don't. Unfortunately I don't think it will be printed here for us poor US viewers :(
@dmortega - not sure Dorrena, just that the picture editor was interested and he thought it might be picked up. Just recently the Agency managed to sell an image of lightning hitting the Empire State building to the New York Times
Aww, Peter, that's so amazing! I'm excited for you and actually, now that I look at it more, it DOES resemble the Dulux dog and not so much the sphinx as I'd previously said :s
I loved this picture when you posted it Peter. It is actually my dog( a Westie) but obviously other people don't recognise him! I read the articles and like Frieda, laughed that they reported your age and marital status. What does that have to do with the beautiful photos you take?
it was the agency who asked me for a brief biog, I guess that they send everything to the dailies, the details must add some authenticity and help pad out the article
Brillinat news Peter...surprised you can't claim some form royalties already, i guess there is different rules for online publishing, but like what blighty said, at least they asked. They could of at least plugged your website to get your name out there instead.
Congratulations on the media interest - hopefully they pick up on all your other photos because they are excelent. I thinl it is a kitten - so the jury may just remain out!!
I do love how papers are obsessed by writing down people's ages too, lol.
