Ads in the way !!!!!

November 1st, 2010
One complaint......I know this site needs ad revenue but........I can't access my notifications if the Kodak ad is showing ! I hover my mouse over the notification box, and it shows underneath the Kodak ad so I can't access the notifications !! Anyone else notice this or is it just me ?

sorry Pete- haven't come across that issue. Ads on my page show up on the bottom of the threads column.

This one shows up at the top on top of "Hot Topics" !

My husband downloaded this program and he says that at that time you could click off advertisement coming in..I myself didn't see him upload it.. it was a total surprise for me...I wonder if he sometimes wishes he had not done it as I spend a lot of time on here.

The other ads are fine...DPS....just Kodak Gallery gives me a headache !! Must just be my page !
November 1st, 2010
I don't get Kodak Gallery ads - must be your page!

I don't know what browser you use, but in Firefox you can get AdBlock, and then you'll see no ads on any site. I use it, and it's great. Makes a lot of websites load faster, too, as ads don't have to load.

@hmgphotos I could kiss you right now! Finally an ad blocker that works! Just installed it - perfect!

I get ads in the way with other companies too. The ads that come up depends on what sites interest you.

@nyweb Yes I've had the problem on the odd occassion - breathe my padewan ... breathe.

Oh yeah, about to download and install ad blocker too .... Thanks!

not mine, @hmgphotos is right , maybe the type of browser ur using ....
November 1st, 2010
@jinximages haha, I think that's the first time someone has wanted to kiss me because of an ad blocker! :)
November 1st, 2010
I was going to suggest AdBlock Plus in Firefox, but it looks like Heidi (@hmgphotos) has beaten me to it... :)

@manek43509 @hmgphotos @misschuff @jinximages @nyweb

There is an even easier way to remove the ads, and it helps keep the site running!

I'll probably pay $20.00 ! I don't mind the ads, only when they interfere with the functionality of the site ! It seems to just be on my home page though, no one else's ! I don't mind ads themselves...I ignore most of them...but in this case the ad is staying on top of part of my page !
November 1st, 2010
@nyweb i'll see what i can do about that, it's probably due to a Flash player bug in your browser
November 1st, 2010
It probably doesn't do it in Firefox, but I've been using Chrome.....much faster !!!

@Scrivna cheers, that's a good idea too.
November 2nd, 2010
@Scrivna It's not the ones on this site that bother me. ;)

At some point I'll subscribe, I'm sure of it, but right now there is no way I can make use of the Ace membership. And when I subscribe I suspect it'll be as more of a thank you to yourself, rather than for all the extras I won't have time to use. :)

@jinximages no worries, any suggestions for things that could make the site easier to use are very welome.

How about e-mail between users or chat ?
November 4th, 2010
I haven't had this issue either, but the ads could be moved so you don't accidentally click them when you try to view notifications
November 1st, 2011
@Scrivna Not true, I've paid for ace membership and I still get ads! This is not ok, I'm one of those nice people paying cash for you to run this site and I don't like to also have the ads! Haven't come acrossed this before.
