OMGoodness - What's happend to me?

November 4th, 2010
I was looking at a gallery online just now and I found my headspace talking to itself ...

f/8 at 100ISO for 1/250 ... more than once!

I'm turning into a techno nerd analysing images I see and pulling apart the how and what!

This happen to anyone else who is here and doesn't do this for a living?

I think I'm excited but then again .. Ok I'm excited!

lol!!!! Not happening to me yet but with the unusual things I am starting to do to get an interesting photo, I am sure it is not too far off!!!

Lol! Most of the time, when I look around me, I see everything in a frame, and think about "hmmm the light is really cool!" "oooo pretty colors" "wow, nice textures. I'm not thinking about numbers.... yet ;)

No, not thinking in numbers yet; but my eyes seem to have turned into binoculars with telephoto lenses and occasionally they appear to swivel in my head. Nothing escapes my gaze anymore; a bit of a worry when I'm driving the car.

@misschuff
Allthough I can`t say I`m calculating apperture and shutter speeds,in the last month (since my passion for photography was re-ignited),I enjoy my walks outside more then I did, checking out my sorroundings more thoroughly.
And more often, then not,I end up seeing something gorgeus from my persepective, and telling to myself "Doh! Why didn`t I take my camera with me?!"..
...If only DSLR-s were as small as cell phones :)

Congrats on making your first forays into nerddom! :P
November 4th, 2010
@eyebrows lol - I've been a nerd for yonks only more specific 'tography' nerdy now ... I gather you're welcoming me then master nerd?
November 4th, 2010
almost always :)

i am always interested in the "how" of things :)
November 4th, 2010
Ah, judging by those number it seems like he or she used an external flash... I always check those out!
November 4th, 2010
@vikdaddy of course, you're even more nerdier than I picked you for! lol
November 4th, 2010
@spaceman I'm with you on that one - always looking, analysing ....
November 4th, 2010
@girlie lol Robin ... even when driving I look ans frame up especially through the windscreens and side windows and rear view and side mirrors ... the list goes on.
November 4th, 2010
I've never known much about "the numbers" before but I'm trying to learn - I've gotten some photography mags and the likes and I have to say it helps you reach a completely new level when you begin to open your eyes for the "technicalities", you learn to use your camera a lot better (though I still have an awful lot to learn, personally!) :D
November 4th, 2010
I'm not thinking numbers yet but I do find myself trying to compose everything around me. Even when I'm doing housework, I get distracted because I'm trying to figure out how I can take a picture of this or take a picture of that...the worst part is when I'm driving and saying to myself "That would make a great photograph! Where I can pull over???"
November 4th, 2010
Haven't worried about the number since going digital. In my film age, I only worried about the f-stop and let the rest fall as it may. Still some f-stop worries, especially with the high contrast here in PNW, but usually compensate with +/-ing the f-stop.

@novablue hey me too!! don't worry, it's just it caught my by surprise when in my mind I was reciting numbers et al. funny! thanks for sharing.

@eileenmabalot Wow, even when you're doing housework! That's an awesome idea. Don't know if you've seen her work but check out @pinktornado39 ... her 'house lady' shots crack me up! Very talented and creative.
RE driving and pulling over ... at least you now have the camera with you ...

@byrdlip oh do tell more! 'in my firm' so now I'm wondering what you do for a living ... interesing too what you've said about "haven't worried about the number since going digital" because for me now I understand it (more) I use it for the 'creative' or 'compositional' pic. only taken 25yrs! rofl. I want to know more on your theory of only worrying about the f/stop ... why is that?
November 5th, 2010
@misschuff - wow! i looked at my notifications and came across your wonderful comment on my work. thank you for that. btw, i have been known to photograph while driving ... bad girl!
November 5th, 2010
@pinktornado39 me too but what the hell? That's not the worst I've done or been know to do! Love your work and am green that I can't do it ... but I'm great at other things and enjoy looking and dreaming and wishing then going, narh! leave it to the experts. Cheers and stay well ... thanks for all your thought provoking captions and images.

@eileenmabalot
I hear you! If I pulled over every time I thought "wow, that would make a cool photo, I should pull over!" I'd never make it to work! ;) LOL
