Got Too Far Behind!

November 6th, 2010
I hate that I got so far behind that I couldn't finish my Project 365!!! Is it still acceptable to post even though I don't have a picture every single day?

I'm pretty sure it's acceptable.. lol :).. I haven't posted according to dates ever.. I just post and change dates most of the time.. ( because I'm obsessive like that-- I want my calendar to look full..) but I'm sure your project is your project and you can do what you will and want :) I've seen some poeple post every couple of weeks one or two photos here and there.. :)

Hi Janet - haven't come across you before but you are so close to finishing so go for it. You have some lovely photos. Put the ones in for the dates that you have and then if you really want to fill the gaps, other people do so with theirs.

Of course! Your project, your rules :)

I think you have to do what you have to do. It's difficult. I admit that I don't take the pictures in the days. It's too hard. Life gets in the way. haha!
I am finding it more and more difficult to keep up as well.

I too am really behind, I have taken the pictures but haven't uploaded since 31st August and I'm now so far behind I'm not sure I will be able to catch up. As you say - life just gets in the way sometimes. My uncle had a bad stroke a month ago today so that has been the focus of my energies lately.
I do hope you finish Janet as I hope I do too.

This has been discussed many a time before and caused controversy, the idea is to document a year in your life thus meaning a picture everyday taken on that day...but of course everyone has their own rules for their own projects :)

I'm so far behind that it's embarrassing. I have actually taken the photo for my 365th day and refuse to post it untiI I have filled in all the September and October gaps.

This conversation has happened several times, as Aaron said above. I intended to be noble and pure in heart and deed, to take a photo every single day and post it before going to bed. And for about six months, I managed that most of the time. But things do get in the way (if I'm honest, I get in my own way more than anything), and I've come to see that it really is for the individual to decide how to finish up.

Personally, my solution to this is going to be that I fill in the gaps with photos taken at some point during the year, but they will be marked as not belonging to that day, and they will be photos that were specifically taken with the project in mind. Sitting here at the end of a year, I find that I just can't bear not hitting 100%! :)

Those of you who do the photo a day, every day--I am amazed by your dedication and frankly just a bit envious. Once I get caught up, I'm planning to take a couple of months off and see if 2011 gives me some more breathing room, because the end of 2010 was just...chaos!

Post away. Do what you like... everyone's life has some 'blank days' ... I have an entire week I didn't post and I'm not going to worry about it. I'll get 365 days, just not in a row :)

Thanks everyone...I feel so much better. I will get reorganized and refreshed....this group is the best!

It is acceptable indeed. Just post when you can.
It may not follow the exact mandate of the project, but I'm sure everyone understands that schedules can be hectic, and life sometimes throws us a hard ball that makes it difficult to post a picture everyday.
