I have seen people post videos. How do they do that? I made a video today because I am starting my favorite things project and my first letter I could not show in a photo. I wanted to post a video for it. Possible or no?
By the looks of it, you have to upload it to youtube, and then paste the URL of the video into the box under Add a Video. As far as I know, that's the only way to do it.
@wellbride maybe if you contact the tech people this might be the sort of thing they can look to improve? I'd certainly love to see video work on here :)
I am torn...I am sure that would be a bigger strain on the site (more memory, bigger files...just a guess since I am no techie). It is a photography site so I am ok with it being geared primarily to photography. I was happy to find out I have a small video editor on my computer. Been interested in learning video. Makes me want to play with that. Anyway. I may try shooting it one more time and seeing if I am ok with it being on youtube.
@wellbride true. Video is a lot of fun. I've been on youtube for years and i've never had any trouble with it. No one's even had the cheek to watch my videos :)
on youtube you can set the privacy of the video so that people can't find it by searching, only by following the link, which you would only be sharing on 365. it MIGHT even work if you set it to completely private, so only you could see it ON youtube while it's embedded on your 365 page, but I'm not sure.
i did a video during "technology" theme week just to try it out, but i wasn't worried about the youtube deal, it's only my cat: http://365project.org/kdwy/365/2010-09-09
Ah well, I got an error message twice while trying to upload to youtube. I am going to try again just not tonight. Thanks to all of you at least I know what to do now.
oh yeah it's a real pain - done it twice and takes hours and then on my screen it's pixelated but others say it's not ... can't work it out and don't unless it's something really exciting. oh yeah then I get emails from youtube about the 3rd party content ... blah! thus only two from me ...

not even sure if they still work as one I used (the very first one) as a link has been pulled.
