unfortunately for ppl who ask me to care for their pets they don't make it ... let me explain .... looking after a bird in a cage really doesn't do it for me so I used to let it out for flying lessons in the garage and kept it in the cage as requested the rest of the time. When I cleaned it out once the base was difficult to get off, it came off with a 'jerk' and frightened the bird and it flew onto the washing line. Here I was base in one hand, cage in the other trying to assist it back into the cage. Then down came it's two 'bruvers' (brothers/sisters/similar birds) had a little pow wow with ex-caged bird and away they flew. Now the dilemma was, do I buy another for the residents of the house we were babysitting or let it be? I chose the latter and they never saw their bird again. That's only one story ...
In short I dislike animals for pets, caged or housed and say 'free them all'.
