This has possibly been covered before, if so, please forgive me asking...
I want a small camera that I can put in my handbag as I usually don't lug the DSLR around with me. I know a phone camera iss not going to be anywhere near as good, but it will be on me so I can take a pic when I need to.
What should I be looking for wrt the camera part of the phone?
A couple of details - I hate mobile phones and only have one for emergency use, therefore the phone and internet browsing side of it isn't really important to me.
BUT I DO carry a phone for said emergencies (and trust me when I say that my family has had it's fair share of those for the rest of eternity) and I figure that by combining a phone with a camera I would actually choose to carry this around with me for those times when I say "I wish I had my camera" ... as opposed to a smaller camera which I still may not choose to lug around.
Oh - and I'm in Australia if that makes any difference
Thanks Weng,
I was thinking along those lines myself, but I know that there is only so much junk I can carry around with me and I'm more likely to carry a phone than a camera ... so really just looking for something passable.
A friend has a droid phone with an 8megapixel camera that is pretty impressive. I've also seen some really nice shots on here from the iPhone....& with that you can get so many wonderful aps like the hipstamatic that give you creative options.
I've been the happy owner of a Nokia N95-8GB phone for 2 1/2 years now.
I selected this phone based on the quality of the camera - a 5 MP Carl Zeiss Optics 2.8/5.6 autofocus. I am still extremely happy with the phone: the camera has lived up to all my expectations, and beyond!
You can look at my album for several examples, here are two of them:
i have the samsung epic which has a 5mp camera on it which is awesome and very impressive. takes really great photos. sprint is the carrier i would stay away from anything pre paid.. they do not make the phones the same quality as they do for contract phones... they may have some exceptions i dont know about but.. to me they are all crap for pre paid..
I personally would look at getting a cheap point and shoot like an ixus 100

Thanks!
