I'm new here, too. I've been browsing and posting a little for a week and probably made a mistake by posting two photos. I didn't realize they would start the 'count'. I really wanted to begin on 1/1/11. I'm wondering if I delete the photos, will that work?

I decided to start posting today (after an fb friend posted a link). I am still awaiting my camera to arrive (hopefully on the 4th) and this will be my first ever camera SLR or otherwise. Soooo do not expect to much from me, but i hope to get some critque back on my photos. For now, I am posting with my dear iPhone 4.....not so good.
@nanascraps .Barbara, hi there and welcome.. yes if you delete the picks you posted it will restart your # and you can start again.. you can also just change the dates on your pics, using the edit button you can either post date a photo or use a future date,,, as long as the date isnt already used..

I'm another newby! I heard about this from a friend of mine and perfect timing... I just purchased my first DSLR camera 3 days ago! This seemed like the perfect way to record a very exciting year for me as I'm due to give birth to my first child in a little over 6 weeks.

My name's John, and I've known about 365 for ages but wanted to get a niche in what I could do.
A few days ago, I randomly got a little cardboard box robot in my mail. No idea who sent it. After a bit of research, I found his name was Danboard and he was an action figure made in Japan by a company called Kaiyodo. I immediately thought, "this guy would make a great project".
So, I waited until today (Jan. 1) to start my project, and I'm really looking forward to it.
And before I forget, I'm 14. Yes, I know I capitalize.
Hello there, I'm new too. I've been taking photos for a while and even had one published in my school's literary magazine (although when I look back at it I find it laughably horrible). I'm hoping this project will help me improve my skills and learn to see the world in a new way.
I use a Nikon Coolpix that I got for Christmas a year or two ago... it serves me pretty well most of the time.
I've been taking photos for a while. I decided 2011 would be the year I spend time every day shooting and learning about photography. Focus on something I want to improve. Any and all comments are welcome. I am awed by what I find here.
G'day everyone - this site was suggested to me yesterday as a great way to improve my photography skills, which naturally appealed to me! (I've only been interested in photography for the last 5 months or so). Welcome all "newbies" hope you enjoy your year here. I started a project in 2010 and had fun trying to find interesting things to document my days. I had a few "life" complications around september/october and decided to start a new one from January 1st and complete a whole year. Today there was a pea soup fog in the whole of our county, so it was fun trying to find something I could actually SEE to shoot.

I was inspired to start Project 365 because my mother started it last March, and she's having a great time. I've been interested in photography for years, and although I only have a little point-and-shoot camera, I'm hoping that this will improve my photography skills. This seems like a good time to start. Greetings. I'm new to the project, but not entirely new to photography. I spent a lot of time with a 35mm SLR back in the day but the camera was put into storage in 2003 and never came back out. I finally got on the DSLR bandwagon back in October and it is like I found a long lost friend. I think the 365 project will be a great way to challenge me to always keep my camera around and make the most of what's around me. Looking forward to it.

I am starting my 365 project today! I will take most pictures of my favorite dogs Schatzi, Savannah and Brandee long hair mini dachshunds who have a very pampered life in Las Vegas NV. They travel with my husband and myself so I will be taking shots of our adventures all year. Have fun everyone.

Hi Ya, I am new, have been waiting a few weeks so that I could start my project on the 1.1.2011. I am a high school art teacher and I am hopping to use this to push myself to start getting back into my own art making in a more disciplined way, it is very easy to loose track of your own creativity when you spend your days trying to help students find theirs.

Another newbie here too - currently travelling on an around the world trip until the end of January so thought this would be a brilliant way to help capture our year. Also going to set my photos into a digital scrapbook with Creative Memories which is how this got started. What a great thing to be able to give to my children at the end of each year. Time goes so quickly and this is one way of making sure we don't take life for granted

I'm a newbie here - have had a d60 for almost 2 years and never really used it. hubs bought me some new lenses for Christmas and I'm learning how now. Most photos will likely be of our daughter, so definitely looking for portraiture feedback and tips!
Hiiiiii..... totally new to the project . I'm Hal, my camera gave up the ghost and so a new year purchase is in line :-) I promised myself I would start this project on 1/1/11 and so am using my surprising 8meg mobile phone camera. I didn't want to fail in the first days :-) It has been quite good to look at the scene rather than worry about the technical and I hope this year sees great progression. My aim is daily and I have just enquired about a photography course in Cumbria mountains in the summer. Watch this space!

Hello - signed up last year, but got sidetracked with other (mainly musical) projects, so thought Jan 1st was a good time to get back into attempting to do the whole year! Gonna be mixing digital and film if I can, which might mean a few gaps while things get developed and/or scanned - is that generally acceptable? Might try some video, have access to a Canon 500d and am enjoying shooting HD on that too.

New year, new challenge. I learnt about the project through a twitter hashtag and after finding out about it I realised it was perfect for me.
I've recently become a mum and wanted a hobby to keep me occupied when my baby was asleep ( doesn't happen very often!) also I got a camera for Xmas and want to improve my photography skills. So here I am.
So I hope I can keep it going every day, and create a record of what promises to be a very exciting year.

I just started last night. I have a 21 month old that I always take pictures of. My goal this year is to keep a journal of her for her. I thought a picture of everyday to go with it would be very nice. I also thought with this project it might open my eye to other shots I haven't been getting or even trying to get. Hi, got whiff of this website from a friend. Thought what a great way to keep a memoirs of my kids for 2011 since I'm so hopeless at journalling anything! Just have to remember not to be intimidated by all the fantastic photos on this website. Also, it's a bonus if I get better at taking photos but the main aim is to capture the story of my three beautiful children, hopefully with shots of mummy and daddy thrown in for good measures now and then :) !

I must have mentioned this a few times as my lovely fiance bought me a bridge camera for Christmas... told me to stop talking and start shooting! I love taking pictures, but had no real clue where to start. 3 days in and I am hooked :)

Just joined today- started my project on the 1st. I ahve a question...when you want to post a picture in the discussions, as in what was your best picture, etc. how do you include the picture? Should I just add a hyperlink?

Hello. Another mamatographer here looking forward to sharing photos of my daughter and seeing what others are doing. I love photography and looking at others' photos, so I may have to limit my time spent here. Last night I was browsing around and before I blinked 2 hours had passed!
Right, so I'm a coming at this in a different way from most people...I'm not a photographer, I'm not an enthusiast...I'm looking at this more as a diary rather than a photography project. Hopefully though, it'll inspire me to get better with pictures as I see everyone else doing great things.
Just joined today. :) I previously started mid year last year but tripped and fell and broke my camera and lens. It took me awhile to get back in the saddle.

@throughdseyes - Hi. There is no need to copyright your photos or anything like that as they are your property from the moment you take the photo and this site doesn't take control of the copyright. If you mean to ask about watermarking, then have a look through the discussion topics as this is a question that comes up quite a lot. And good luck with your project. :-)

Hi, I am also new.. don't really know anyone.. I'm from Norfolk, England and I never keep New Years Resolutions.. so this year I've made one that might actually be fun to keep :P
I am really not very good at taking exciting photos and I am not particularly photogenic myself so I decided to do something a bit different and each day I am going to take a photo of my rubber duck (I called him Greg) doing something different. So far I haven't done many exciting things this year because there have only been a couple of days and it's still the holidays.. but I'm sure I can find some good places to put him for photos! I am currently in college and my life in incredibly busy, but hopefully I will be able to keep up with this project. I would appreciate any comments (good or bad) about my photography since both will help me to improve.
I too am new to this project this year. I just stumbled across it through a friends post on Facebook. I did take a few pictures over the New Years weekend but have missed the last 2 days not knowing this would come up. I too am not good at following through with resolutions although this one I will do!! I had asked my 4H group to do something like this this year so I think I will have them all join as well. It will be a fun experience for all of us.

I just joined too. I got a new DSLR and want to learn how to use it by practicing every day. I love photography and get inspired by looking at all the great images other folks are sharing.
Last year I restricted myself only to iPhone Photography (taken and processed only using various iApps) as an experiment. This year I have no restrictions and am mixing in pictures from my iPhone as well as from my Canon Powershot G3.
I am using this both to become a better photographer but also to chronicle my life. So not every picture will be high art but that's OK. I'm having fun :-)
I am new here as well. Never done the pic a day thing, but I am 3 pictures in and looking forward to the rest. I can see how it will be hard with family and work, but i think it will be a nice escape. Looking forward to seeing some others pictures and hopefully refining my picture taking abilities.

I am three days in and loving this challenge! I'm taking even more photos than normal now. My friends told me about this challenge, and I've listed it as one of my seven New Year's resolutions. I have a little daily checklist to make sure I don't forget to take at least one photo each day! Narrowing down my selections to post one is difficult!

I have a frind on facebook and she is restrting again. I thought it woulbe cool to try it to. I am starting off to rough start as I am not 100% sure what exactly I should be taking pictures of. although two I got pretty well the other I pulled off a website in honor of something happening that day.
I didn't make it on the first but got started on Jan 3, 2011. I am just finishing up a tour in Afghanistan so I am hoping that I can let me kids use this to see what life is like over here. I found a couple of weekly idea lists and have been having a pretty good time brainstorming ideas for future shots. Hope I make it as you all do as well.
I want carrying my camera to become a habit and I thought this might be the way to create the habit. I am new to the camera, new to photography in general. 2011 personal goals include understanding more about my camera and using more of its features. I should probably commit to some photo editing, too...that seems too daunting for right now! We'll see!

I Googled for 365 Project and found the website. Prior to December 31st I knew nothing about it. Now I am telling all of my friends that it exists, too as I think it is great for people (like me) that need a bit of support and encouragement when undertaking a large, creative project.

I have a few friends here and decided to finally join. I need to motivate myself to organize and process my too-many digital shots. I'm hoping this will get me in the habit. I'll be thrilled if I can do one upload per week at first and I hope to get up to 365 eventually.
Hi, also new, looking forward to sharing and learning. Have seen some awesome shots here, amazing - I have no idea how to use photoshop yet, so my images are direct from my camera. I guess they are not as exciting and eyecatching that way, but to me, it's about what I see and developing my 'eye' for framing.

I saw a friend of a friends photo albums on facebook last year and loved her beautiful eye for a good shot, especially her nature photos. I saw today that she had posted on the same friends wall about starting a 365Project. This project idea is new to me. I've never been to any photograpy websites before, am rubbish at taking pictures and can just about upload them to my computer, but I have a £50 mass market point and click camera and have actually finally read it's manual! New year new start, it just feels like the right sort of project I should be trying. So I clicked the link and registered straight away, no planning, no pre themed ideas, I'm just going to wing it (just like my life) in the hopes that I can see the world anew through a lense and develop myself a beautiful camera eye too!

I'm Starting a Little Late But Lucky I had taken pictures for the days just because So I Hope To Get In The habbit Of Taking More Pictures Which Shouldn't be hard being a new mom and all =) But At least My Daughter make a good picture!
Hi, I'm new to this whole process. I have a couple of cameras one being a point and shoot and another one being a Canon 7D. I'm still in the learning process with lighting and all that goes with a digital DSLR. So it is a process. From what I see people are really artistic here, so maybe I will try and take some artistic shots as I learn. This should be fun.
New to the project and wondering what the best size for photos is? I have a iPhone for on-the-go shots, but these probably aren't the best quality for web publication. But I have a very slow internet connection, so cannot upload best quality photos. What is the best compromise? I am thinking about 1MB?
Day 5 and I am struggling but it's been good. Not sure how many of these other people have job and families or not judging by the quality of the entries. Hopefully by the end of the year I will have one to be proud of. Anyway for those who are thinking along the same lines as me then you are in it to challenge yourself not others. This is a personal journey that I am sharing.
360 days to go! I decided to do this after I heard about someone who compiled their 365 photos into an artwork. After a google search I found out this whole website existed and although I don’t know anyone else who’s doing this I’m excited to try and finish it. I’m trying to have me or part of me in each photo so it’s a bit tricky and I’m not sure how much longer that will last.
Hi everyone... I've just joined recently. I've only been taking photos for the past few years, and some how ended up with a job wherein I am the product photographer for a gourmet food company (talk about luck... don't get paid a LOT, but I get to work with a camera). A friend indicated I should try out the 365 thing, so I am. I'd love to get to know more photographers and would REALLY love to know how to collect a few more followers?

I'm another newby! I heard about this from a friend of mine and perfect timing... I just purchased my first DSLR camera 3 days ago! This seemed like the perfect way to record a very exciting year for me as I'm due to give birth to my first child in a little over 6 weeks.

My name's John, and I've known about 365 for ages but wanted to get a niche in what I could do.
A few days ago, I randomly got a little cardboard box robot in my mail. No idea who sent it. After a bit of research, I found his name was Danboard and he was an action figure made in Japan by a company called Kaiyodo. I immediately thought, "this guy would make a great project".
So, I waited until today (Jan. 1) to start my project, and I'm really looking forward to it.
And before I forget, I'm 14. Yes, I know I capitalize.
I use a Nikon Coolpix that I got for Christmas a year or two ago... it serves me pretty well most of the time.
I'm a newbie and crap at taking photos. Hopefully after 365 days I'll be a pro! Looking forward to it!

I was inspired to start Project 365 because my mother started it last March, and she's having a great time. I've been interested in photography for years, and although I only have a little point-and-shoot camera, I'm hoping that this will improve my photography skills. This seems like a good time to start. I pretty much stopped when I got my first full time career after I graduated college and didn't make time for 365. But I'm really motivated to start it back fresh, and start on January 1st this time! I'm really excited!

I am excited to start this project to see what others have done, to follow and be followed on the site and I look forward to seeing the finished result on day 365!

I'm new. Just uploaded my first picture a few minutes ago. I've known since November that I was going to try this but I waited for 1/1/11. Pretty much a total amateur at photography. I just point the camera and press a button. Hoping this project will help me improve.
It gets such wonderful people on here who are carers, happy, no swearing, no snide remarks, and no bitchieness, just great fellowship and community spirit.
I hope you will all leave a short Profile - especially where you are living even if it's just a country, it is so great for us to know where the people are - believe you we are scattered all around the world. My resolution is to try tons of new things this year so what a great way to start right? As I am on the board of a cat rescue and always have fosters there will be lots of cat photos lol Here is to an adventurous year!

New year, new challenge. I learnt about the project through a twitter hashtag and after finding out about it I realised it was perfect for me.
I've recently become a mum and wanted a hobby to keep me occupied when my baby was asleep ( doesn't happen very often!) also I got a camera for Xmas and want to improve my photography skills. So here I am.
So I hope I can keep it going every day, and create a record of what promises to be a very exciting year.
I also have another resolution - to read a book a week as recommended by Twitter people. Feel free to follow me and make a suggestion, @lisamacario :)
Just started yesterday after some advice from a friend of mine who is also member over here.
I'm very curious how things will work out for me!
I just love to make photo's, my favorites are nature and animals.

I just started last night. I have a 21 month old that I always take pictures of. My goal this year is to keep a journal of her for her. I thought a picture of everyday to go with it would be very nice. I also thought with this project it might open my eye to other shots I haven't been getting or even trying to get. I'm very excited and optimistic about this next year.

It's so great to see SO many people signing on for this project. I saw someone do it last year via facebook and found it interesting. I am no pro with photography and have no idea how I will keep my entries interesting but I shall try my best.

my name's alice, i'm 18 and i'm form italy, i have always wanted to do this project and i decided to start with the new year.
i hope i'll reach the goal even if i think it'll be really hard, but.. let's be trustful!
I saw a friend through facebook was doing this project and i was really interested. I must have mentioned this a few times as my lovely fiance bought me a bridge camera for Christmas... told me to stop talking and start shooting! I love taking pictures, but had no real clue where to start. 3 days in and I am hooked :)

Use any camera you have, point & shoot, DSLR, iphone...the point is take a picture!!! Play and watch your photo skills change and improve through out the year.
Am hoping to complete combining my photos with my Scrapbook hobby.

I am really not very good at taking exciting photos and I am not particularly photogenic myself so I decided to do something a bit different and each day I am going to take a photo of my rubber duck (I called him Greg) doing something different. So far I haven't done many exciting things this year because there have only been a couple of days and it's still the holidays.. but I'm sure I can find some good places to put him for photos! If you're interested in seeing what Greg gets up to this year please feel free to follow me!

I am currently in college and my life in incredibly busy, but hopefully I will be able to keep up with this project. I would appreciate any comments (good or bad) about my photography since both will help me to improve.
Last year I restricted myself only to iPhone Photography (taken and processed only using various iApps) as an experiment. This year I have no restrictions and am mixing in pictures from my iPhone as well as from my Canon Powershot G3.
I am using this both to become a better photographer but also to chronicle my life. So not every picture will be high art but that's OK. I'm having fun :-)

I heard about it from my girlfriend one day, and I decided to start something new.
I know I'm a NOOOOBIE at taking pictures, but hey I try my best. The thing is though, I'm not very artistic nor have a good imagination. So yeah, we'll see what the rest of the days bring. :)
I love the challenge of taking a photo a day, and then choosing which one to upload.
Just wondering though, what happens after you have completed your 365?

I am new here (as of the first).
I was inspired to take up doing the 365 project because a friend of mine did it for the last two years.
I Googled for 365 Project and found the website. Prior to December 31st I knew nothing about it. Now I am telling all of my friends that it exists, too as I think it is great for people (like me) that need a bit of support and encouragement when undertaking a large, creative project.
I am happy to be here and I look forward to learning more about the members here and seeing your photographs!
Looking forward to learning from people here (and if anyone is patient enough to teach me the basics of Photoshop, what an overwhelming programme that is!)

Total newb. I've admired folks that have done the 365 - thought it was time to step up to the plate and take it on as a New Years resolution. Especially because I got earned one sweet bonus at the end of the work year and bought myself a D90!
I saw a friend of a friends photo albums on facebook last year and loved her beautiful eye for a good shot, especially her nature photos. I saw today that she had posted on the same friends wall about starting a 365Project. This project idea is new to me. I've never been to any photograpy websites before, am rubbish at taking pictures and can just about upload them to my computer, but I have a £50 mass market point and click camera and have actually finally read it's manual! New year new start, it just feels like the right sort of project I should be trying. So I clicked the link and registered straight away, no planning, no pre themed ideas, I'm just going to wing it (just like my life) in the hopes that I can see the world anew through a lense and develop myself a beautiful camera eye too!
I'm just finishing up, but I wanted to say good luck to everyone starting their projects!
