hi! i'm a newbie to the 365 project (and to "art and themed photography" as well.), so i wanted to take the time to say hi to all the older members.
also, i have a question about what is "acceptable" regarding editing pics for upload to 365 project. even though i'm relatively a newbie to photography, i'm a pretty advanced user of photoshop and camera raw (because my camera sucks!). i just uploaded my first pic, but i did little adjusting. just some histogram contrast adjustments to make it look less "washed out" and faded. so, until i can afford a good SLR or DSLR, how much photoshopping is too much? changing of colors? artificial bokeh? splicing of images?
I love to play around with photos...I agree with Krissy...just do what makes you happy...its a form of art...so I feel that the effects that people do to their photos makes their pictures unique! :-)
First, welcome to 365! (:
Secondddd - to me, i edit TOO much! Like, wayyyy too much. Because I like playing around with photoshop and colours.. and i get too far. And that's what makes ME happy. So yeah.. do what makes you happy!
I feel you should edit as much as you think you should. All I usually do is just retouch my images or turn them monochrome. Its whatever makes you happy!
I was wondering the same thing, it's good to know that editing your pictures is okay. Personally I think editing is the fun part about taking pictures.
It's your project, so do what you want. My personal preference is that my photos show what I see....so no neon colours in a meadow...LOL....but beauty is all in the eye of the beholder, so some people will like what you do and others will not. It is what pleases you that matters most. :)
i used to edit more heavily until i joined here and then i drasticlly cut it back. however i'm learning more and more new ways to edit and am starting to get back into it again :) you will learn so much here :) enjoy ;)
thanks for all the responses. i can see i'm going to have a great time working on my project here! you all seem like a bunch of great people! :)
i personally tend to gravitate towards unnaturally saturated and sometimes neon colors, so hopefully 365project can help ween me from the addiction. :) I'm looking forward to learning new photography and observation techniques that will let my camera do more of the work.

As others have said, it's your project, so do whatever you wish.
As long as it's yours ;)
