Where to find a good Lightroom tutorial?

January 6th, 2011
I just got my adobe dime bag and downloaded the thirty day trial of Lightroom. It seems great and I have figured out some of the real basics. However I was wondering if anyone knows of any good locations for a nice general tutorial for lightroom basics, either in a website or a video/blog. There are all kinds of super specific lightroom tutorial videos on youtube, but no short and sweet intros that I saw. Also I still can’t figure out how the heck to shut the program down!

Thanks for the help!

Lynda.com has some of the best video tutorials ever. they are not free however ($25 for a month), but each tutorial has several lessons you can try for free to see if it matches your learning style, etc. i've learned so much from there, for many different programs.

good luck. i'm sure others will chime in with some great resources too.

Can't you just 'cross' (x) it off like any other windows programme? it should then ask you whether you want to back up, and as it's just a trial you just skip it. I used the trial before migrating to the full version, so it might have changed. I just played around with it to get to grips with it, the editing function is pretty intuitive. I'm probably now maximising its potential mind!

this page has quite a few introductions http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/lightroom/articles/lir2am_videotutorials.html
and I knew there were a lot more around the adobe sight but can't seem to find them at the mo' Also if you have itunes (no ipod needed) you could download the lightroom podcasts where each week you get a lesson on how to try something or other with lightroom.
Wait, I just found it and it's much improved. Lots of great videos http://tv.adobe.com/product/lightroom/
I've just down the 30 day thing and am very impressed indded
