I was wondering what do you use to clean any smudges or finger prints off of your lenses and the screen on the back of your camera?? I am worried about scratching my lenses. Thank you for your help.
I use Zeiss lens wipes I found in the optical department of Walmart. I use filters, so I don't get overly concerned with what I wipe them with. If I'm out and about, and have nothing else, I'll breath on it and wipe it with my shirt :)
@hmgphotos Same here! UV lens protects the actual lens from dust and smudges and scratches, so I would HIGHLY recommend one. I haven't taken mine off of my camera since i got it.
@annlessner Any lint-free, microfiber cloth will work fine to clean lenses. You can order them by the pack at Adorama or B&H, but you can also get those at auto shops since they are the same clothes people use to polish stainless steel and chrome parts on their cars.
I hate to admit it but I used my T-shirt this morning...even though I could have walked a hundred yards to my kitchen and got an optometrist lens cloth (which is what I normally use). Of course the ND filter saves me from total ruin.
I keep the microfibre pouches my old phones and other electronics came with in my camera bag, the seams are great for getting in tot he edges of lenses.
I admit to often using my shirt or jacket if the material's right, like my velvet jacket or my kind of linen shirts.
@annlessner Also one thing to consider: you should definitely, absolutely, 100% have a UV filter on the front of all your lenses to begin with.
A UV filter does not affect image colors or quality noticeably. However, they are really great for protecting the front of your lens. A UV filter might cost around $15, and then if you happen to scratch it while cleaning it with a t-shirt or something you won't have to worry about having a scratched lens.

Lens Pens are also great, and I try to keep one in my bag at all times. They have a habit of walking, though.
