I have a Minolta 35mm SLR but its just sitting in the wardrobe where it has been since I found Digital, I also have an Olympus SP 600 UZ which I use now, Would love a DLSR one day :)
Canon 450D or Panasonic Lumix FS3 for when I'm scared to take the canon out. Also have a Pentax Me Super SLR but trying to get god before I use it and waste the film.
I have a bad habit of using old cameras... I have some ricoh's and a weekend from the 1950's and a spottie from around that time too. I have lots of stuff in between... but I am lusting over the new fuji 'point & shoot' X100.... I have my $1200 set aside for march... wait that's my birthday month... how great is that!!!!
I have a Nikon D300, two D200's, and a D80. My D80 is my primary portrait camera, the D300 is for when I'm actually hired, and my D200's are what I play around with cause if they get broken I'm not out too much.
an Olympus E-410, its done me proud but i want a nikon :D and a little Pentax W80 shockproof/waterproof because im a teenager and taking care of things isnt my greatest strength :D
@lisahutchinson A Minolta 35mm SLR you say. Which model? I had an XE-7 for quite a few years, and an X-370 which I hardly ever use. My first camera was actually a Zenit-E. But that was some time ago.
Now I use a Nikon D50, and a point and shoot Cannon A530.
I use an Olympus 800UZ which has a 30 X optical zoom. I am finding that this camera has its limitations, but it is fun to use. It is also light weight enough for me to use and fits well in my hands.
@icywarm I do have a few photos of me with several of them...
D300, F5, and Holga... but yeah, I'll have to do a different pic one day with the whole hoard! Sounds like a neat idea :) And just use like my parents' camera to take the photo with!
@jasonbarnette I am fighting hard to get down to 7 lenses, 3 cameras and one toy. I think I want/will settle with:
X100 and/or W90 as my walk around
K-X to be replaced with K-5
12-24 f/4 rect
18-55 (I don't use this range and would love to sell this lens for a 2Xmm, oh wait that is what the X100 is for!)
50-135 f/2.8
400 f/5.6 to be replaced with (debate here) 200 f/2.8 or 300 f/4 or bigma(which I don't think will make me happy)(I want something WR) which leaves the 200 or 300
1x 35mm camera, I still cannot decide which one that will be I have 4 I love.
50mm f1.4 for film, I love normal on film, although many say it is a waste
and then I need to decide on one MF camera, either my TL, Weekender 6x7 or finally upgrade to a real MF camera.
Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 50D (2 of them), Canon 20D, and Mamiya RB-67 (medium format film) are my main cameras. The 5D Mark II is my workhorse for portraits and weddings, and the 50D's are my forensic photography workhorses.
@jinximages how do you like yours... I have a chance to pick-up a Mamiya RB67 w/90mm &180mm lenses, extention tube, 3-645 and 2 67 backs, bellow and Prism Finder for $600... it comes with a case and seems to be in good shape... but I want something more walk aroundish... did you ever carry it at a wedding? waist or prism view finder?
@icywarm I got it as a now-unused "fingerprint camera" (though I think it spent its last couple of years as a studio camera). I've never tried it at a wedding, though I'm contemplating it for a few formal shots, perhaps one roll per wedding. That film is not cheap!
I have both viewfinders. Well, the waist one doesn't really count, so I should say I have the accessory prism view finder. I've used both, but I like the prism more because the waist-finder has the whole back-to-front thing going on and confuses me if I've been looking through an SLR. Mine has a light leak I'm trying to sort out, but it's going to get a good workout once that's sorted. The quality of those negs are in the order of 120 megapixels! LOVE!
For $600, I'd buy it. Even though I've got one! I'd own three if I could justify it. I've been told you can even get digital backs for them, though I haven't looked into it because I know I couldn't resist. The shelf of our refrigerator taken up almost entirely with film gives me reason to resist that particular temptation, for now. ;)
@icywarm Oh, I should add - it is big and heavy. It is not something I'd want to carry for 8 hours. I'd only use it as a walkaround for short events if I wanted very specific shots. But it might suit you, since you spend far more time with film than I do these days.
I have a canon 40d, a pentax mg and a canonet 28 (actually I have 2 of those). And a bunch of lenses and accesoires for both the canon and pentax. And when I forget my camera's at my student dorm, I use my dad's nikon d90 when I'm home.
@agthunderbird and @bobg
I think its Minolta Dynax 700 or 800 will go dig it out and find out, The Lens is a Sigma and I think its 70mm - 200mm or 300mm, Can You tell I've not used them in a while.... a very long while. They've been packed away due to decorating.
@jinximages DAMN YOU... the digital back is only $1000... now I 'need' to get it... I was thinking the jump from my current camera from 12 to 16mb was not worth it... but for the same price I could get both the camera and order a back... and at 22mb that is a big jump and a large sensor... sigh... (ok really it was a rubber arm, but still)
@jinximages nope don't that is just the adapter so you can use the digital back that is between 12 and 16K... geez... $10k for a 645D is looking really good right now...
@hmgphotos - Obviously the cameras and lenses in the bucket were very very carefully placed in there for the shot. I have my cameras and lenses in ikea cube shelves. Makes it really easy to find the lens I need, since they my stuff doesn't all fit in one bag. But that's gonna have to change when the baby is born. I've gotta get them locked up or somehow out of reach of the kid.
Canon 20D...goes with me everywhere. It's my main. I have an ancient Olympus 500 point and shoot for when I'm shooting and don't want to swap out lenses, and my iphone for anything else where the Canon can't go. :)
We've got a canon 7D and a canon something something it's a brick that can go in the water which is really the only time it gets used cause the picture colours are odd!!!
Using my new iPhone 4 for this project. The apps are simply amazing, and I can email the daily offering right to the site. My other cameras are the Canon S 90 and the EOS 1D Mark II.
I mostly use a Canon 500D. Until recently my 'take everywhere' camera was the Ixus in the photo but now it's a SX210IS. Not sure that's actually an improvement.
@intheneverland I see you are 'loving it' but how do you like an EVIL camera? Do you notice lag or anything like you get with a screen on a P&S, or is it pretty much like a DSLR? I am considering an EVILish camera this spring and wanted to know how you like yours.
@sudweeks I bought a tool box chest that seems to be working nicely... but I miss being able to 'see' them all... but once the baby comes you will not have any time to take pictures... so you might as well sell you set of bodies and lenses to me... you have them all packed nicely in a bucket... just toss some stamps on it and send it my way!!
Nikon D90 - I take it with me everywhere, Kodak EasyShare C190 - for quick every day pics, and a Polaroid Underwater Camera (haven't used it yet). plus my iPhone4.
Canon 40D, I am pretty biased for Canons. A friend of mine lost her 40D and went and bought the next one up and now regrets it, she really loved the 40D. I am very happy with mine and still haven't learned all it can do.
@icywarm First of all, I love it because it's my first camera. Secondly, it pretty much meets my needs. There is a slight lag with screen, but only when using particular olympus art filters (diorama, pinhole effect) or taking videos with them- aside from that, I'm content with it's performance. For example, it responds very fast to the changes with shutter or aperture that you make- you can instantly see them on screen. The manual controls on my Pen are arranged a little bit differently from what I saw on Canon or Nikon, but after just a glance at the instructions, I was good to go.
Oh, and I love the design - it really resembles an old camera a bit.. :D
Hope I helped.
Canon 10D...
Got pentax, minolta and canon 35mm SLR's just sitting there, still haven't put the darkroom back together...
I also use my phone - Sony Xperia X10, which takes great everyday photos, no good in the dark but otherwise as good as a point and shoot.
I use my dad's Nikon D80 SLR sometimes, but mostly just my phone (LG Viewty Smile GT400). My phone has a 5 megapixel camera and it's actually really good! I've got a cheap digital camera too... Can't remember what it's called though xD
Nikon D700 for the serious stuff with heavy 2.8 lenses.
Olympus E-PL1 Pen camera (micro four-thirds) for my go every where camera. (It produces surprisingly great quality files, and is just plain fun to use).
Used to shoot SLR's for most of my film "career". Then I got all retro and nostalgic and went the way of interchangeable lens 35mm Rangerfinders (Contax and Leica). Ergo I am used to not looking through a "taking" lens. I use a Z650 Kodak that I found at a thrift shop as my main and a Kodak C190 for backup. I would like to try the Olympus Rangefinder with interchangeable lens.
iPod Touch as my main camera and when I can my Nikon D300s.
I am a professional photographer and work for the US Forest Service, the main reason I am using the Touch is it's a challenge and fun to have a camera all the time to chronicle my life but there will be times that I take serious photos with my D300s and will post those when they happen.
Canon Rebel xSi here, which is a replacement for my original Rebel dSLR. My film SLR is a Minolta Maxxum 500si, which I don't use anymore, but refuse to part with.
Nikon D3x and D90 for work and serious photographs. And a Canon PS for my go everywhere camera. Thinking about purchasing a Widelux in the near future.
I don't believe the camera makes the shot great but the person taking the picture and the subject matter of the picture.
Nikon Coolpix - handy bugger but you are very limited in what you want to achieve - especially when it comes to shots where you want a slower aperture or a close up. After I win Lotto I would possibly buy A CanoanEOs50
Sony DSC-H20. The only thing that annoys me with my camera is that the flash takes a few seconds to load, but I rarely use it. I want to save up to get a DSLR one day.

50mm
10-105mm kit lens
70-200mm
50mm
18-55mm kit lens
70-255mm
Hoping to go up to a D90 in the near future.
current P&S is a canon A3100IS, have had three other A series P&S's and an olympus P&S.
Still like my Mamiya/Sekor that was my first SLR the best though if only for how nice that mirror sounded flipping up and down.
In answer to the thread question, I have a Sony A580, A100, and my old Minolta Maxxum 7000 film SLR.
Now I use a Nikon D50, and a point and shoot Cannon A530.

sigh.... my ebay page is going to be hoping!
Not my set, but you can see their size here...

I'm interested in seeing just how much I can do with it, though. :)
For now ... playing around with a 400D ...
And occasionally a Canon Ixus 105 p&s ...
I'm in love with it.
Also have a couple of P & S that I keep in the car and handbag.
Oh, and I love the design - it really resembles an old camera a bit.. :D

Being a poor college kid means I've had it for a longggg time, with an inability to afford a new one.
I would love an SLR one day, but my point and shoot is great in the meantime. :)
And I also use my iphone occasionally, if I have to.
I don't believe the camera makes the shot great but the person taking the picture and the subject matter of the picture.
Panasonic Lumix TZ-6
HTC Hero phone camera
would love an slr though
