A lens issue

January 18th, 2011
Hey everyone! Within the last few days, I've noticed a little red speck of light on most...if not all of my photos. When I look at my lens I can see a little tiny white spot under the glass, and I don't know if that is what is causing the blotch. It doesn't appear to be something I could have done, as it appears to be under the glass. Do any of you have any thoughts or experience with this? I am just using editing to get rid of the mark for now. Thanks!

Do you have an example? The first thing that comes to mind is a hot or dead pixel. Is the spot in focus or out of focus?

It is in focus. I was wondering about the dead pixel too. Do you know what causes that? I'll have to see if I have an example.....
(Thanks by the way!)

You can't see it real well here, but it is on the left side of the photo. It appears very small.

You can't see it unless you hit the magnifier.

It might even be a hot pixel, due to shooting at a high ISO. Try a similar shot with a low ISO and see what happens.

Thank you so much for the link! I will have to try out what it suggests!
I will also check my ISO. I think I have it at 200 right now......

I think cleaning the image sensor worked! Thank you again!
