I am glad for you! But ehm, I haven't been on those pages for quite some time and I wonder what the photomonkey ase doing... Don't they like my pictures?
@geertje You might remember there was a big debate about this a couple of months back and it all changed so it would be fairer. There are a lot of new people from the beginning of the year Geertje and I guess that they are getting the encouragement that we had when we joined. I've noticed that pictures with way more favs, views and comments than the PPers don't make it onto PP. Those that do get there seem to do so for much longer too (although one of mine went up for about 5 minutes last night)! It seems a lot of those who used to get pics here don't any more - swings and round-abouts. This way we also get exposed to lots of new work and ideas. It's more dynamic for sure, but hope you get one there soon.
@miranda Thank you for your kind words. I did remember some bits of that discussion, but not exactly, I din't follow the discussions that much back then. I want to give the new people the same chances I have, but I think I've improved and I would love some recognition. I think I'm stil a bit unsure and overwhelmed by some of the work of other people. I think I must be content with my own project and get the satisfaction from the comments, that must be easy.

@geertje@miranda I agree, I've noticed it's much more difficult to make the PP this year, or maybe I've slipped a bit!! Certainly with so many new members it must be harder to make the grade. I try to pretend it doesn't matter but I still get a big kick out of seeing my pictures there! And you're right in that sometimes their appearance is so brief. By the time some one has told you, poof!! they're gone!!

@miranda Being a new-comer, that would explain why I had a photo on the popular page for about 1/2 a day.... and I didn't even think it was that great of a photo. Even so, it was such a "rush" seeing the photo there and wonder what it might take to get another photo on the popular page.
I am honored, excited and surprised to have one of my photos on the PP..
It is just what I needed to see this morning, what a great encouragement for my day.

I have no idea how these monkeys of the popular page work , what is their taste, what they prefer and whom they chose to praise and encourage. I like to browse sometimes this page and discover new ( to me) members and a selection of wonderful pictures I would not have seen otherwise. On the other hand sometime I wonder why a particular picture got there and what am I missing. I am always thrilled and feel proud and lucky if I find that a picture of mine is there. Unfortunately, there was a couple of time that I learned about it only from a comment on a photo of mine. Sometimes the fame is very short and an hour later some other star is on the stage.
I wonder if Ross ( @Scrivna ) can consider a feature that let the person whose picture is in the popular page know about it in a notification or if it is possible to have a list of the photos that were there, say every week or so.
@Scrivna haha! I should perhaps it would certainly get their attention! Thank you Ross, I don't know how the photo monkeys choose a pic, and honestly I don't do it for that but it is still thrilling to see your picture there all the same. Loving this project so thank you for that too!! Although my husband not so thrilled... my first words when he comes through the door "come and look at todays pictures"!!
I would like to know if there is a potential of getting a notification that our photos appear on the PP, and that it is part of our stats.

Thank you for all your hard work. I have a son who is on the Microsoft XBox Team, so I have a sense as to all the work it takes for maintainence and new features.
