$19.99 Membership

January 27th, 2011
Hello 365 members new and old,

I had a simple question that i was hoping someone could answer. The question i have is this... is the 1 year membership worth it?? I am a very new member and don't know very much about this whole 365 project website so if i do decide to get this 1 year membership i wanted to know if it's worth the $20

Thanks a bunch,
Marcus

If you have a lot of photos to upload, you have three albums (rather than the one free) to do so. It also gives you access to the editing software, which is basic but cool if you don't have anything else. I personally did it to support the site. It's a great community and I'd like to see it continue to thrive.

The editing option is handy if you wish to make any alterations after you've uploaded, but personally I find the stats the best part of signing up. I find it interesting to see what images of mine are receiving views and comments, and of course, it's good to help this wonderful site to continue :)

The Ace Membership is a small way to support Ross and this site, and additionally allows you to maintain multiple albums. The Picnik software is free anyway, but you can edit through the links directly from your 365 downloads, which is pretty convenient if you want to do some quick tweaking . . . If you're not sure continue your project with the free membership for awhile and if you stick with it and think you might want another album, whether simultaneously and/or when you finish this one, you can always add the Ace Membership later on . . .

If you are happy with the community here and are enjoying your experience with your project, then yes it is worth it. I just took the plunge to pay as I am nearing the end of my first year. I decided that I wanted to do the WWYD challenge but didn't want to use up my calandar for them. So, I needed a second album in which to house those pictures. I don't know if I will use the 3rd or how the roll over to another year will work so, we'll see.

I haven't used the other features but I do think this is a great site with a unique group of positive photographers willing to help share their knowledge and that the annual price is a drop in the bucket to have a great experience.

It was worth it for me as I liked the site, the simple functionality, the swell community, and wanted to help Ross (our creator) with the costs of running the site (these things can get expensive) seeing as how I was causing a portion of said costs.

If you like the site and the community, I think a $20 investment to keep it going is well worth it. In the month I have been here, I have learned more than a $20 text book could have given me and I feel that I will continue to learn throughout the year.

Along with supporting Ross and the site, I wanted to get an ace membership so it would push me to complete the project! I know that I'm not going to quit something I just spent money on.

I paid even though I don't really use any of the extra features. I run a few websites myself and I know how much work and cost can go into maintaining one, so the least I can do is throw 20 bucks Ross' way.

More importantly, how much is that in pounds?
January 27th, 2011
It is totally worth it! You get the benefit of extra albums, no ads but really it supports the site and I love this site! Just renewed my membership for the second year. @wormentude My guess is it would be about 15 pounds

I paid because i love it here and I wanted to help Ross.. I don't use the editing program but I do love the fact that I can have more than one album and I can see my stats etc - yes I think it is worth it for the fact alone it helps Ross keep this online

It is definitely worth it! The stats are the best part! Getting to see which photos are your highest rated and seeing who favs your pictures is awesome! Plus, it's nice having the option of other albums. Oh and it helps Ross with the upkeep of the site!

Do it! I got it for Koshi and myself for Christmas. ;)

I think its worth it for the stats alone lol... but also I love that I can edit with picnik right from 365. It saves me time, which is always a plus :)

I upgraded last night because I wanted the extra albums, and the stats are interesting, plus the extra notifications!

I love the site aswell so I thought it would be a good idea to support it!

It's a good way to be supportive of the site, and really, what other annual membership could you find for a measly 20 bucks?
January 27th, 2011
Support the scene man! But then again I been on it year...
January 27th, 2011
alright thanks so much to everyone... i think i'll get it then!!!
January 27th, 2011
It was totally worth it--for all the reasons mentioned!
:-D

I was a member for a whole week before upgrading to "paid membership" WORTH IT. Love supporting and helping with the maintaining of this site too. The internet would be a sad place w/o 365Project.... ;)

Supporting Ross is really why I do this! He is fabulous for running this site and keeping us all interested, inspired, connected, etc.

I upgraded three days into my own project (now on Day 28). For me it was about saying well done Ross. I quickly realised that the real power lies not in the functionality of the site (which incidentally I like - KISS) but rather the community that exists in the cloud.
