This is thread is maybe more for those of us who are stuck in the northern hemisphere and getting tired of the cold of winter, but I thought it would be interesting to find out where people have planned to go for their holidays(/vacations) this year? And also if anyone's been there before, to recommend where to get the best photos!
Obviously as 365-ers we'll be taking our cameras everywhere we go, so I thought it would be cool to see what we've got to look forward to seeing :)
Myself, I'm going to France twice in summer (Port Camargue with my boyfriend, Brittany with my family), with the possibility of Barcelona with friends in June and I'm TRYING to get enough money to stay with a best friend in Sydney in November!
What about everyone else? Where are you going to be taking your projects?
I'm off to India with my Mum next sunday! it's somewhere she's always wanted to go but has nobody to go with! I said i'd help her live her dream!! I should imagine I will visit either my pal in Singapore or the one in Dubai (or do a stop off and visit both!) and i plan to go to Patagonia at the end of the year (more cold there though, so thinking of the views not the weather!!)
I'm still aiming for London - where it was once for the sake of seeing London, now it's to see 365ers :D I want to go before the summer... maybe April? Or even February. I just don't know when I can find the time.
Other than that, have to set a few more dates aside for the Bon Jovi tour in the summer. Greece is a sure thing; spending a week with a cousin there.
@indiannie_jones that sounds good, i'm hoping to one day make a london meet seeing as it's not too far away! looking forward to seeing some nice mediterranean shots from you!
@wormentude sri lanka would be very interesting, i'm sure there would be lots to capture there!
I am not planning any big trips this year. I am planning some short trips. We will travel to see my husband's mother several times and help her out with some home maintenance issues. I hope to visit my aunt and my brother & his wife in Kansas (USA). I also plan to visit my other aunt several times and help her with typing up the family stories, which have been passed down orally throughout a few generations. One story has been passed down the generations since the 1700s! I know there will be photo ops no matter where I go.
@daisy wow, it must be awesome to have so many family stories! are you considering having them published or just made accessible for future generations? it will be nice to have trips to see family :)
anyyyywherrrre!!!!! I have been stuck with a blown out leg since before thanksgiving, that when it heals aand i am back on my feet (literally) and not having to move about in a wheelchair, i am going to jump in my truck and take several short weekend trips. i am hoping to hit several short distance places for weekends; Evansville, In to see some of my friends, and get some riverfront shots, Cincinnati to see friends, the fire museum again, have some hook and ladder beer in Covington, Ky - there is some real neat night time street scenes there as well, Indianapolis - the zoo, downtown at night, and then a few other trips - I would like to hit St.. Louis as well. My main goal... walking - it makes it much easier to carry gear. luckily, i am on track to be mostly healed up when the weather gets warmer, so that will be good on timing to head out shooting.
@cchambers haha wow, what a good attitude! doing the weekend thing is great cos you can get so much done in a short amount of time. i hope your leg heals soon and you can get back to all the walking!
@grimbo Heh, thanks :) my shots are already Mediterranean anyway so it won't feel too different for me. Except the language barrier - Cypriot Greek is lazy and imcomprehensible toGrecians, whereas their Greek is too proper for us to understand.
I am heading to Italy the end of March for a few weeks...and then hopefully, if I don't spend too much money there..(hahaha)....I hope to get to India in around November. I expect some great photo ops from both.... :)
Last year my husband and I spent a week alone in Mexico. We loved it so much that this summer we are heading back and taking the girls! We are planing to stay in the same general area we did last year, about 30mins south of Cancun.
I'm going to Cyprus in August, it's my first holiday in years and I CAN'T wait! It's a worrying indication of my addiction to photography that I'm concerned that my memory card totals of 10GB might not be enough for the fortnight! :)

@minxymissk i know what you mean, i'm planning to take a few cameras (dslr, some random film ones) with me and i'm sure i'm going to be seeing most of my holidays through a lens!
@autumnseden Definitely! We're heading out there on 9/10 and leaving on 9/24. Not sure what our itinerary is yet but I'll let you know. I'm SO excited!
I'll be visiting NYC for the first time this March on a Girl Scout trip, and in February my choir is going to Chattanooga. We might go to Kansas City at the end of May for my uncle's weeding, and in June my friends and I will be hosting a Girl Scout camp which I hope will provide me with some cute photos. Beyond the summer, who knows? NEXT summer I'll be in England, Ireland, Wales, and Paris for my graduation trip.
I'm heading from Scotland to Norfolk too and hopefully meeting a fellow 365r (@lisahutchinson) for some fun and shooting, lol. I can't wait. It looks lovely down there. Flamez you should try and go at same time as me too. @flamez

In April my son and I are doing Disney in LA, for a week, not sure were we are heading over the summer, as both my husband and I will be working, but we will get to Canada at some point .. Maybe try to get to Idaho, I have a friend who moved there last year. and I miss her and want to catch up with her..
I'm going to Italy this summer for the first time. I live in Alabama and have never traveled abroad before, so this is really special for me. I'm staying two weeks touring all over...CANNOT WAIT!
