So I havn't seen this yet, so I was wondering what kind of equipment is being used out there to create all these awesome pictures being posted? What brand are you loyal to? What camera do you use? What lenses do you use; if you have them? And if there is any other equipment, like flashes, or anything else that you use to set up you picture, what is it? I'm just really interested to see how these pictures get captured and the tools to used to catch them. I personally just use a Canon 7D and a (now) broken Canon 28-80mm and new Canon 50mm f1.8 II that I just got, and it's amazing so far! So what do you use?
I've got a Canon T2i and I use the kit 18-55mm, a 55-250, and the 50 1.8, a polarizer, I dont have an external flash. Not enough money haha as for editing I use Adobe Photoshop CS4
Canon here as well, and also a T2i (550D). With it I have the 15-55mm, 28mm f/1.8, 28-105mm, and a 70-200mm f/2.8L along with a 1.4x II extender. Then of course a mountain of accessories. Tripod, remote shutter release, polarizer, and little homemade studio setup, etc.
Canon 10D
Old EF 28-70 lens, 1:3.5-4.5
Big peeper - 70-210, 1:4.0 all the way through another EF
Ultrasonic 22-55, can't remember off the top of my head think it's 4.0-5.6
Speedlite 420EZ
Another speedlite I never use, 420's longer body makes it handier for aiming
And of course when the situation calls the odd beer mat...
That speedlite burns through batteries fast, in rush forgetting spares will happen...
canon here. 20D and 5D (i know, both really really old). 24-70 f/2.8 is the lens i use 95% of the time, 17-40 f/4.0 and 70-200 f/4.0 sometimes. also have a slew of other lenses that rarely see the light of day. as far as other equipment... i have an external flash that i don't know how to use very well -- so i don't, and i have a tripod that i never use because i never take that much time to think through my shots. i mostly just shoot on impulse. "ooh, that's pretty." *click*.
(4) Pocket Wizard Plus II
(3) Nikon SB-80DX
(2) Alien Bee B400 Strobes
Manfrotto tripod and light stands, Magic Arm, clamps and accessories
Circular Polarizer Filter and UV Filter for each lens
Cokin Filter System for my ND and Graduated ND Filters
That's the biggest stuff I've got. It comes in real handy for most of these shots, though I'll admit anyone can do all of these shots with just a single camera body, one lens, and a filter.
Wow...lots of Canon users replied to this question. I got a Nikon 3100D for Christmas and I am still using the kit lenses. But my photos are no where near the quality of the others here, either. I'm learning. My next purchases will be a tripod, external flash and a 50mm lens - probably in that order.
