I want to create a photo book and was wondering if anyone has used Blurb... if so, I'd be interested in hearing your opinions, views etc.. ie. were you happy with the quality, paper/print, cost, price that sort of thing..
I've previously used shutterfy and whilst it was ok, it wasn't anything special...
@andycoleborn I'd be interested as well, as they seem really good value. I've used Jessops before, and have loved their books - but Blurb are tons cheaper for the size of book I'll need for the end of the year.
I haven't used Blurb but have used Photobook Australia which was great - really good quality. They have a worldwide website and often have good specials even though they are a bit on the pricey side - http://www.photobookworldwide.com/
I used them to make a book. I upgraded to premium paper and used an image wrap hard cover. I was very happy with the quaility, cost and turn around time. I normally made my books in iPhoto on my Mac... Blurb is much cheaper and equal quality.
I've used Blurb and thought it was great. There is a lot more flexibility on designing the book (especially compared to Shutterfly, which has very limited templates) and there quality was better than Shutterfly. If you're not someone who enjoys page layout applications, you might not enjoy Blurb as much though since it can be a slower, more detailed process.
I got a free 24 page book a month ago from photobox - it was okay, just a softback. I was quite impressed with the quality of the images, they were all printed well thoughout and pretty much how they looked originally.
Not sure they do more than 100 page books so not sure what you want. They also have money off codes floating around the internet, there's one for 20% off first order at the mo, and another of 30% off over £30.
I like shutterfly the best..once you figure it all out, it's actually quite customizable, I guess the person that said they didn't like it just didn't try to work with it or anything
I did a blurb book a few years ago and it looked really good. The color matched and the quality of the binding was nice. I also tried shutterfly and although it was ok, it seemed just like an inexpensive album-- not special. The blurb ones look like you made a custom coffee table book. I haven't used either one in a long while but I would certainly try blurb again!
I have made 2 books from Blurb now and have been extrememly satisfied. It is very versatile, there are many options, the quality was good, and the price is reasonable. I am very satisfied and would recommend them.
coincidence, I was in the market only Sunday and i got speaking to another photographer and we ended up talking about books and she recommended this website' Blurb' and i had never heard of it, and here it is again, so good sign methinks, so I think will use it now.
