I would Really like to know how the pics on the popular page are selected. I really don't think it has to do with the number of fave's or views. Perhaps the number of veiws per second or something. It's been bugging me for a while.
Does anyone know for sure?

@individuality_a it's a magical, mysterious formula that Ross has devised and won't divulge. There've been lots of discussions but very few answers. There seem to be some "favorite" photographers that appear regularly and then there is some kind of algorithm that selects based on some type of statistics and something or others. It's one of life's great mysteries. . . :)
@stepheesue thanks! not that i think any of mine were up there, but recently there was a lot of people starting threads about how they were on there...and i wasn't sure if they were just lucky enough to catch it or not

@dkg i agree that it would be nice to be notified because sometimes they are there and gone really quickly whereas other times they might be up for a day or two. . .
btw, i didn't get a photo on the PP for 6 months (I told myself when I did, I would join, which I then did. . .) happy shooting! :)
