I have noticed that my phone has HDR capabilities, where it takes three exposures and blends them together for you. What is interesting is that if you go into options you can save a photo in HDR On and HDR off (the second photo is HDR). It seems that mine works in some lighting such as indoors and dark shots, but is completely washed out or too dark in sunny outdoor settings. What are your expereinces with this?

I'm looking forward to the responses you get. I'm having knee surgery in about a week and I want to continute to post my 365 photos but don't want to take my real camera with me to the hospital. I'll also be interested in the best way to upload from my iPhone.

@mamabec If your phone has the ability to email photos directly, it is fabulous for sending the photos directy to the site. You will need to eventually have to log on to the site (cannot do it from the site on my phone) and title your photo, write your description and then set the date. I do upload that way often (oh, for my phone they need to be landscape not portrait).

I use Photogene & also Camera+ quite a bit. You can do everything from your iPhone. Email your photo & then use to Safari to log into your 365 project. My iPhone always defaults to the mobile version of the site, so I have to scroll to the bottom of the page & click the "full site" button. Then it's no big deal. We just need a 365 iPhone app. ;-) Hint. Hint.

I haven't seen much advantage using the HDR setting, but have only tried it a couple of times. I need to read more about it.

@kick_the_cow, @ mamabec, I have PS Express and Iris which do some nice editing on your phone. I also have Percolator, Retro Camera and Paint it! Now for a bit of fun. Peter Van Allen on this site is now doing great photos with his iphone.

@superdex, thanks for the note on full site. I never even thought I could do that, but I did look for a 365project app though.

@brumbe I used my husbands 4 when I forgot my phone at home, and you have to be careful when you use the HDR. I really like it for subjects indoors that cannot move. If anything moves during the shot it gets all weird because of the exposures layering on top of each other aren't all the same. I guess I should't have turned off the "save non HDR image" setting because at least I would have a normal shot to fall back on. I don't know if that's any help to you. I really like how the HDR looks when it works out though.
