It seems like I've already used every idea I had. I used to take picture of landscapes, but then I switched to still life, and now I don't have any ideas!
I need some websites for inspiration (Google isn't very helpful for some reason) or some books for inspiration? Or what you do for inspiration?
ARGH, I am going crazy!
i am the same at the moment! I either go for a walk outside and go take pictures of random stuff lol or random objects in my house! If all else fails i take photos of the kids. But i have been loking at dailyshoot.com some great ideas there
It's odd isn't it but when given free reign to take a shot of anything we often find it harder to find subjects than when someone gives us a specific assignment; something yellow, shoot from low down, etc. It certainly helps focus the creative mind.
I'm finding that I have lots of ideas, but the easy shots have been done. Now I have to make an effort to go out again tonight in -20 degree weather late at night to get a shot that I arranged last night. It might be good....it might not....but this project motivates me to make more of an effort...when I can. Week days are the toughest because I am always rushing to and from work....hope my shots tonight work out. :)
There's this 365 site that is just full of ideas from tens of 1000s of photographers :-) I photographer my slippers yesterday, ...and a lamp, so running a little low on the big 'I' myself. Good luck.
One day I took one subject from various angles throughout the day to try out various lighting. I also take random objects I see. You could also experiment by putting together still lifes and taking their pictures. I have wondered about taking pictures to illustrate different emotions, but have not done this yet.
I'm the same as Annie...I have a bunch of ideas at once and then a few days of nothing. I've been trying to jot down ideas as they come to me so the days when I don't have any ideas, I look at the list and see what I can work on.
Also, you can try a different take on photo you've already taken....let's say it's a still object, can you try something different with different lighting, angle and/or editing? Do you have a family member or friend that wouldn't mind being a model?
Not sure where you live, but if the weather is nice, take a walk around your place or at a park or nature area...lots of photo ops! If that fails, take a closeup of something! Photos where the viewer isn't quite sure what exactly the object is are also fun. :-)
I carry a small notebook with me. When I think of something that may be interesting I write it down. Look in magazines, books, billboards while driving. You'd be surprised and what you can think of next.
I pretty much just go with whatever pops into my head each day. Sometimes it works out great and other times not so much! LOL! I try to draw inspiration from the people and places in my every day life.
Walk each afternoon and LOOK for it. The neighbours now say "she's out looking for her photo"...This all has to do with having very long and very busy work days. Sometimes I have some real time and am able to set up something which I may have been thinking about for weeks but just didn't have a chance to chase.
Think of a concept, perhaps, and then search for it on Flickr or stock sites and see what ideas come to mind from those!

Also try http://dailyshoot.com/ it may give you and idea for the day you need it or write it down in a note book for a later date.
For inspiration on topics, I often browse worth1000.com. They always have competitions running and the topics are so many and varied.
