You may remember a few weeks ago my daughter managed to break my camera lens and laptop in one fell swoop.
Today I got the decision from the insurance company, they will replace my 3 1/2 year old laptop for the modern version of it and they are replacing my 18-55mm lens with a 18-200mm one!
From what I can gather the 18-200mm lens is worth almost 3 times that of my 18-55mm. I double checked the information I gave them and it's all correct. Well if they wish to upgrade my lens who am I to argue?
Maybe I should buy my daughter a little present to thank her!
@lislee75 I wouldn't like to recommend it, despite being happy about the upgrades I think my daughter and my camera will be kept at arms length from each other!

Wow, my friend got an 18/200mm and she finds it great. enjoy. It is nice when the insurance works out in your favor as this is why we pay it, but we often get screwed by them in some form or another.
That's good to hear, he he eh eh,well i will be sending mine to you and please let your daughter break it, LOL! Lucky you have that kind of daughter he he he he. but seriously I'm happy for you getting back into the limelight of 365project again.

I can't wait to get the new lens to play with, also considering selling the laptop to buy 2 other lenses I would like. I'm weighing up the pros and cons of having a lap top as well as a desktop and ticking off a couple of items on my camera equipment wish list.

My first reaction was "Wow he (why he I don't know, it was instantly a he not an it) is much heavier than my last lens, quite an impressive looking one too!"
I've just tried out a few photos around the house, I can't wait to go out and give it a go properly.
