Nikon offers a hard plastic cover for the D90. It distorts the image slightly, but after more than a couple of years my LCD screen looks brand new. For my wife's point and shoots I use the covers you can buy for the Nintendo DS. They are extremely durable (they're intended for kids to write on them with a stylus), adhere very well, and are large enough that they can be trimmed to fit most screens. Pretty affordable too. I think I paid $10 for three of them at Best Buy.
@deliriousoul You can just but the phone protectors or whatever's cheapest at the time and cut them to size - though there are some different kinds, the non touch ones offer tougher protection in general but they all tend to have similar results.
I've had this 10D for forever and the glass on the screen really doesn't scratch at all...
@deliriousoul - I've had stick on ones in every camera I've ever had and recommend them completely - easy to use, no distortion and a protected LCD screen.
