The Fatty Story Part 1
This is "Fatty" Here is fatty (right) with his sibling when they both first fell out of the nest (18th Jan).

The Fatty Story Part 2
Then I found thier nest (25th Jan)

The Fatty Story Part 3
And here is Mum, Dad and Aunty all feeding Fatty (15th Feb). Sibling #2 seems to have disappeared around this time.

The Fatty Story Part 4
On this particular day, fatty was in the tree and Mum & Dad were fetching food for it, so I got some good close shots until Fatty took off leaving Mum & Dad in the tree looking confused.

Fat Boy getting fatter.

This is Mummy and Daddy with Fatty moments before he flew off.

Mum looks most concerned (about me under the tree, I suspect)

This is Daddy just after Fatty had flown off.

The Fatty Story Part 5
Will have a hunt for him this week, suspect he's been abandoned to fend for himself and he may be the considerably thinner bird I saw collecting moths off the windows this morning.

So watch this space...

Any feed back appreciated.

Fatty found!
Not so fatty now, he has lost weight and is learning to survive on his own. I managed to snap off some great pictures of him this morning. Just as I was sitting at my computer looking at them, he was back. This time he was getting closer and closer to lucky dog, asleep on her day bed. I could barely believe my eyes as he inched closer and closer to lucky. I was not sure what he was after. I'm convinced the bird was just curious and coming in for a closer look. The bird was about three inches from Lucky's face and I was enthralled but cursing I didn't have my camera. Lucky must have sensed movement, and sat up breifly and fatty shot sideways and up into the pine tree, peering out between the branches waiting for her to lie down again. As soon as she did, fatty came back to the verandah. By now I had my camera and fatty was heading for the dog kennels. I could not capture him in front of the dog kennel that Tiny was lying down in. I have neer seen such a curious bird! He flew off somewhere and I came back inside. Saw him a third time prancing around the garden where it was all dug up to get the spa in. I will be keeping my camera close for the rest of the day.

Hmmm what do we have here. Fresh floating bees.

Mmmmmm these are waterlogged, but very sweet!

Oooooh grubs!

Not so fat, he has lost most of his bulging Crop
"This searching for food on yer own is exhausting!"

What do we have over here?

He's turning into a handsome lad.
