Yes! In Australia, they still shape your internet after you have used your allotted gb...we are so backwards in this country when it comes to internet.! @stephlife
but can you use more? and pay more?.. or is it just "that's it" ,no more internet for you? How are they able to regulate the amount you can use? I need more info.. that is wierd.. In canada here , depending on what company you use to get internet, you do get charged for more then the #of gb's allotted( though I have no idea what our number is ).. though I don't know that many people that have had to pay extra for using more.. you would have to be downloading 24hrs/24hrs a day.. large movie files or something to actually have that happen..
@melaniep Yes they dont cut you off, they just slow it down so much, slower than dial-up so its really impossible to do anything. I dont know how they regulate it, but they do! We cant pay for more gb's without signing a brand new contract, so for the next 9 days we just have to put up with really slow internet until it rolls over.
