I know a lot of you love bald eagles as much as I do. Well, the first egg hatched in the nest on Hornby island at 1.39 pm today. I'm sitting watching this beautiful newborn chick being fed by her Momma (the beak is quite curved compared to Dad's). Here's the link- I love following these couple of eagles as they raise their latest kids. In the past one chick fell out and was killed - last year the only chick died in the nest just before she fledged. It's heart breaking and I hope this time it'll work for them - they're really awesome parents.
